Report: ‘Slave Labor’-Fueled Chinese Fleet Destroying Fishing Industry in West Africa
Breitbart ^ | 8 Apr 2022 | JOHN HAYWARD

The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF), a London-based non-governmental organization, this week published a report on the destructive, largely unregulated, and often illegal operations of China’s immense deep-water fishing fleet.

An especially disturbing chapter of the report dealt with the harmful impact of Chinese fishing on West African nations, where entire coastal communities tremble on the verge of economic collapse thanks to China’s rapacious practices.

The report, titled The Ever-Widening Net: Mapping the Scale, Nature, and Corporate Structures of Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing by the Chinese Distant-Water Fleet, accused China of creating a huge fleet to fish outside China’s own depleted waters.

This Chinese distant-water fleet (CDWF) employs “destructive practices such as bottom trawling and the use of forced, bonded and slave labor and trafficked crew” to steal huge harvests of fish from communities along the African coast.

The EJF blamed “a lack of transparency and the opacity of seafood supply chains, limited monitoring, control, and surveillance capacity, poor governance, and corruption” for enabling these practices to continue.

The report took a dim view of distant-water fleets in general but singled out China for its “size and global reach” and its penchant for overfishing in vulnerable regions like the African coast.

Take the contempt the globalists have for the Russians and the Ukrainians, and multiply it by a thousand to see how they regard the Africans.

That’s exactly what they are — locusts in human form.

In the 90s reports of fishermen catching sharks, cutting off their fins, then tossing them back in the ocean started surfacing. As Chinese started making more money, shark fin soup, once a delicacy for the rich, began to be enjoyed by the common man.

Same for all the big animals in Africa, the medicinal properties of their horns. So few left.

Isn’t it funny how China never gets mentioned by the Greenies?

The chinese are ruthless in resource harvesting. Whilst the west went all warm and fuzzy about greenism, the Africans saw it as basically whitey saying ‘no development for you. Stick to sticks and stones’. The chinese have exploited this.

I recently read a bit about the Cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Something that’s needed to build those unicorn batteries that we’re supposed to power the world with. Never mind that supply won’t outlive demand in just 4-8 years

Battles with China over ownership of the mines, horrible working conditions, and children as young as 3 working in little holes

The chinese are the scourge of the earth. Halving their population would do wonders, but we have been defeated by them—it is too late. We are dead, but don’t realize it yet. Enjoy a world fighting both them and half our own stupid shitizens.

The media has their guidelines. Only whites can enslave people. Black on black slavery, asian on black slavery, asian on asian slavery. Doesn’t exist as far as media and globo companies are concerned.

Remember the “blood diamonds” campaigns? I won’t hold my breath waiting for the “blood cobalt” campaigns to draw the same attention to the human costs of obtaining the resource and shaming of customers.

India has more people, nicer too, and they aren't out raping the Earth (just our jobs). Vegetarianism, and worshiping the T-bones and porterhouses rather than eating them, has its environmental benefits.

They have selective indignation syndrome.

Communists give fellow authoritarian communists a pass. CCP-style citizen control is the model for the new world order.

The chinese are ruthless in resource harvesting.

If the west really wants to boost atmospheric CO2 removal, just pay the CCP for doing it. China will quickly proceed to fertilize the world's oceans with the right trace elements to boost algae fish food production, for about $5 per ton of CO2 removal, as well as increase the numbers of wild fish beyond imagination. Mass CO2 removal might trigger a new ice age, but China will do anything for a buck.
