I think everything hinges on the outcome of DeSantis’ re-election campaign. If he wins easily, it’s going to be very hard to not support him in 2024, he’ll be bullet-proof.

And he’s got one big advantage over Trump, he’s got a team of people working for him in Florida that we can bring to Washington.

Can Trump do that? Based on his first term, I think that’s simply something he cannot do.

He’ll also bring along a supply of competent, seasoned, and (hopefully) loyal advisors and agents (unlike Trump) who would implement his agenda, instead of confounding it.

I’m leaning Trump because of what he weathered in his first term.

I don’t think many political persons had anywhere near that level of assault he was dished out in swamp land.

Maybe Trump is too old. The whole stolen election still pisses me off.

Nobody really knows anything about his team in FL and the “adminstrative state” in Washington (aka the Swamp) doesn’t change with a new Prez. Based on Trump’s first term he was the best we have had, right up there with Abraham Lincoln and George Washington - says Mark Levin.

“And he’s got one big advantage over Trump”

Big advantage #2: He’s not reckless in his communications even though he speaks forthrightly.

Of course, if Trump weren’t full of braggadocio and severe criticisms of weaklings and the MSM in his communications, he wouldn’t be Trump. I think that strong fight Trump has makes it possible for people like DeSantis to run and win.

That was President Trump’s great weakness. He had to ‘depend on the kindness of strangers’. The strangers’ first loyalty was to themselves rather than to Trump and it showed.

Exactly. Trump’s “Team” has been a disaster.

Trump has something very big that DeSantis has not had.

Trump had a very successful term, with a great economy and great unemployment numbers and a very secure border and a great foreign policy.

Plus, he’s battle hardened, with democrats battling him on everything and trying hard to get rid of him illegally. Plus, he actually ‘won’ the 2020 election, though the record doesn’t show it because it was stolen from him.

I don’t know anybody more deserving at this point; not even DeSantis. But, DeSantis would be a shoe-in for the vice-presidency and very unbeatable in 2028. DeSantis is young and can wait for 2028, where no democrat would be able to compete against him.

The “team of people working for him in Florida” is also known as “his establishment GOP handlers.”

That’s NOT something that works in DeSantis’ favor.

"Can Trump do that? Based on his first term, I think that’s simply something he cannot do."

And if DeSantis is Trump's VP, we can have both..(I'm sure DeSantis can bring along this vaunted "team" as VEEP)..Trump/DeSantis in 2024, Desantis/??? in 2028 and 2032.

I dunno 'bout you, but I kinda like the sound of that....

That was something that really surprised me about Donald Trump when he got to Washington: He chose poorly when it came to his cabinet and administration. And he continued that failure throughout his term. There were a very few exceptions, of course, such as Dr. Ben Carson.
