Family bakery at center of Oberlin College race row faces ruin as it continues to be boycotted by woke students for calling police on three black student shoplifters

The Gibsons suffered horrific stress as a result of Oberlin's lies and involvement in protests as well as boycotts, which culminated in the college and its former dean of students Meredith Raimondo being ordered to pay out $44 million for defamation in 2019.

That was later reduced to $33 million, but Oberlin has arrogantly declared that it still won't pay out after losing a state court appear earlier this month. It has also refused to apologize, despite multiple college staff and numerous resources being deployed for the protests and boycotts. Meanwhile, Raimondo has landed on her feet with a cozy new college job in Georgia despite her appalling behavior.

The saga inflicted by college has dragged on for so long that two senior members of the Gibson family died with a stain on their reputation, while waiting for the cash they're legally entitled to.

Continuation of yesterday's story: Oberlin College REFUSES to pay $33m in damages to family-run bakery that called cops on three black students for shoplifting, only for bully dean to falsely accuse them of racial profiling and set woke mob on them.

What do you call thinking you should get away with shoplifting because of your skin color?

racial privilege

There will have to be some comeuppance for these lawless leftwing obscenities and their demon spawn.

Oberlin had to post an appeal bond. The surety, in this case Zurich Insurance Company, guarantees that the judgement, with accumulated interest, will be paid after all appeals are spent.

This headline is just a little bit misleading.

I’m very surprised the Bakery is still active at that location. It may be more practical simply to move and operate elsewhere. At this point, it does not matter that this business has been in operation at that site for over 100 years.

If business is down and your staff is still being harassed, best to move on. The present student body at Oberlin’s has already been conditioned to hate them. The average student doesn’t have a brain big enough to think for themselves.
Same kind of addictive illogic behavior seen at Chik Fil-A.
I would guess it’s hard for this Bakery to get liability insurance in that particular site.

That, and put the bastards in jail.

All this time refusing to comply with court order. Contempt of court, go to jail.

Of course, I’ve advocated long for arresting mayors and governors who defy federal law over illegal aliens with their “sanctuary”. Hasn’t happened yet. They keep getting their way.

Thank you for explaining that point. No one else has.
Maybe the payout will happen then.

The “college” the gal landed at in Georgia is a private liberal arts school. Not sure how pressure can be put on the college to force her out.

To idiot writer Natasha Anderson :
Gibson’s will not be ruined when Oberlin is eventually forced to pay $33 million plus.

This headline is just a little bit misleading.

Nope.

Not at all misleading.

Bills continue to come in.

They must be paid.

Having a bunch of money sitting in a bank that, may or may not become yours at some point in the far future, is of no help at all.

How the heck if Oberlan college getting away with refusing to pay a court ordered settlement???????

If that were one of us, we’d be thrown in jail for contempt.

If staff are still being harassed, it would seem to be a good idea (if the local cops aren’t hostile) to ask the local police to start stationing plainclothes officers there and start racking up the tickets and arrests.

The bakery owners still have to make a living in the meantime. I have no idea how long the school can drag out the appeals process. Or if they can get lucky and snag a whitey hating activist judge along the way.
