Grassley: Republicans won’t repeal ObamaCare if they recapture Senate

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) said at a town hall meeting that if Republicans win back the Senate later this year they would not attempt to repeal Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act.

The admission came after the senator, who is running for his eighth term, was asked how the party planned to get Americans affordable healthcare.

“It’s not repealing the Affordable Care Act, if that’s your question,” Grassley said Monday in Waukon, Iowa. “Yes, I’m saying that I would not — we’re not going to repeal the Affordable Care Act,” he added after the questioner pushed further.

As bad as Obamacare is, I know more than a few people who are glad it’s there. Republicans would be wise to fix it, or, as they once promised, repeal and replace.

Or, they could do nothing like they usually do.

You do realize that Xiden will veto any repeal bill, right?

There is no scenario where the GOP can get 67 votes to override a veto.

Health care in America is an expensive, bureaucratic, government-controlled hairball.

They have to go beyond trying to repeal Obamacare, and simply blow-up and remove all Fed.gov involvement in it.

Grassley has also preserved the stealing US technology
from the USPTO to foreign countries.

CANNOT BE TRUSTED, Grassley is. Again here.

Grassley HATES the American People outside of HIS power.

Republicans won’t do much of anything if they capture the senate. That you can count on.

They could have written a more all-purpose headline...

Republicans won’t DO XYZ if they recapture Senate

It makes it easier to write the next article.

**************

Republicans don’t fix things and don’t do what they promise to do, but you can count on them to make excuses.

I don’t believe a word they say anymore.

Amen to that. We are tangled up in the infernal hairball now.

I retired five years ago, my wife this past summer. So we are now on Medicare (with a good [and expensive] supplement). When we were working, we had really excellent insurance plans and minimal headaches.

Now that we are on Medicare, it is truly a nightmare. We are stuck in a government bizzaro world of nonstop obfuscation, denials, people who won’t return repeated calls, constant transfers to other parties and companies, more denials, preapprovals).

Our time spent trying to get basic care is up at least three times. This is MUCH worse than we ever expected it to be.

“I don’t believe a word they say anymore.”

I’m with you. I’m finding the GOP to be just a different flavor of corruption.

Of course they won’t, why anyone is surprised by this is beyond me...

They were active participants in the theft of a national election...

You really think they care??

Well it would be for show since Biden vetoes it.

Republicans: occasionally resisting but not ever rolling back.

The party of Surrender once anything happens.

It’s like that one Freedom Toons cartoon about Republicans from the future, where eventually the time traveling Republican pops up and tells his earlier self to stop insisting on giving pain killers to child sacrifices, because that’s just a first step to ending child sacrifice altogether.

His primary competition is a nobody. That’s the problem. No one stepping up to challenge incumbents.

Repeal and replace will take 2 election cycles. The repeal should be done right off the bat and replace should take a year. No coverage for that period. Watch the market work. People will be more careful just like Covid.

Yes, but all health care is now like that - thanks to the Obamacare wrecking ball. There is no medicine left in America - COVID proved that. A significant plank of the Socialist agenda has been implemented, and Republicans refuse to remove it because their big donors are making out like bandits.
