two words: Plastics
We can also thank the EnviroMental Safety NAZIs for losing asbestos.
There just isn’t a better flame/heat deterrent.
“What? All electronics use lead solder”
No. Rohs has been in effect for a long time.
And it sucks cause the new stuff does not melt easily.
Oh, and the whiskers of death.
All them chemicals only harm Californians... so who gives a F.
lol, I refer to the ubiquitous CA warning on everything you buy...
The “Dollar Tree” is now a “$1.25 Tree”. 25% increase in one fell swoop. I think it changed right before Christmas. I hadn’t been there for a while and a day ago while walking through the store I never saw such junk. Definitely a change. Even the candy isn’t quality.
Epoch times paywall kept me from reading. Would be nice to know which products. I just about buy only products made in USA from dollar tree store,...except some non edible poor quality once a while scrapers or USB cables. They have a lot of made in USA food products or other products. I just buy as little from China as possible.
Epoch times is a publication affiliated with Falun Gong....and they would love to see CCP lose lots of business.
Which stores don’t? It’s not like products sold in these stores are different.
Does it seem that the Government and its proxies are at war against working class people? One way folks have been fighting Bidenflation is by shopping at discount stores.
I survived leaded gasoline, leaded paint, Agar, mercury fever thermometers, no bike helmets, wandering unsupervised through miles of woods, fields, and swamps, ticks, snakes, what have you — all before the first grade.
The dollar store isn't going to kill anybody.
You can die with enough water.......
Oh jeez. It’s worse than I thought. Are they putting this in aircraft too? No wonder cars have so much electronics trouble when they get old.
When you pay a dollar for something that cost more than a dollar to make... They obviously cut corners somewhere in the food chain... I.E. Did you actually expect the food to be from the manufacturer on the label?
I generally don’t buy candy....but I’ve seen DG has just normal candy bars and such...
Color me skeptical
That figures. Apparently, washing your hands after handling your calculator and before you eat never occurred to these people.
One of those changes was about asbestos. There are two types, one that is relatively harmless to humans, and one that is harmful (different crystal structures). 90% of the asbestos being used in the US was the harmless variety. And, of course, cleaning out the asbestos in places such as classrooms, by putting fibers into the air, could also do more harm than good.
While working around asbestos a lot can cause a lung condition called asbestosis, for most people, the stuff is simply harmless, if the more common, non-harmful version is being used. We can start doing widespread use of it again as long as you have a simple regulation excluding the small amount that is genuinely harmful, and maybe another to try to prevent asbestosis in manufacturing workers. That's it. No bans.
Dixy Lee Ray was also governor of the State of Washington.
The article discusses objects not food so, it is full of chit...
I have a dear friend in the nursing home, and she really likes the Russell Stover Miniature Sugar-free mints and Coconut Bars that come individually wrapped in smaller packages. No more at the Dollar Tree according to an employee and sometimes can be purchased at Dollar General.
I’m a senior citizen now and my mother back when we were kids wouldn’t let us go into some stores because of the harsh chemical smells. She was right on it! We were blessed with super parents.
Strangely believe it but Eastman Chemical Co is where I live. They manufacture a product used as can lining.
An arrest was made in Michigan of a Chinese woman PhD chemist who worked for Eastman and is said to have transmitted all the product info to a Chinese company of which she was a part owner before moving to Michigan and being arrested.
“... selling products that contain a large number of toxic chemicals,..”
And I’ll bet they all have labels, “Made in China.”
