AND they don’t get the money. The shareholders get the money.

It's my understanding that Musk is offering a dollar number greater than Twitter's stock value. If they don't accept, won't the CEO and the entire board need to resign as they've failed in their fiduciary duties to Twitter's shareholders?

They banned the leader of the free world and half the country applauded. They are more powerful each time they get away with shutting down any opposition. If Elon can mess with them, I’m going to enjoy it.

“... they’ve failed in their fiduciary duties...”

Failure to accept the offer could be actionable. Stockholders could sue.

On the other hand, if they don’t accept the offer, Musk can dump the stock which would also hurt stockholders.

Twitter’s owners and insiders are more interesting in control of the public thought process than they are about just money imo.

“He pretty much does everything he says he will do.”

Posobiec mused this AM on Warroom that they Fu@%d with the wrong Gen Xer when they banned the satirical Babylon Bee.

Once he became the largest shareholder, they further insulted him saying he wouldn’t have any effect on how Twitter operates.

Musk is giving them a master class on economics right now. I’m sure free coloring books are being handed out at today’s Twatter all-employee meeting.

Twitter is a very powerful tool for the Establishment Left. If Musk takes it, it could literally change the history of the world. Mind you, watching all the blue checks on Twitter in a collective (pun very intended!) panic is so glorious, though. 😏😉😆

He must just be screwing with them, doubt he’d actually want to waste billions of dollars on this.

Aren’t a sizable number of twits Bots? And then they use the tweets to drive the Commie media? Whatever would the mediacrats do if they don’t own Twitter?

I’ve heard it estimated that up to 50% of twitter accounts are fake. That’s probably high, but it’s pretty bad even if it’s ‘only’ 25%.

Not necessarily. Board may have reasons to believe offer is too low and it is their fiduciary duty to reject it.

they remember how (SC)Air America worked out...

when you start fresh no one uses/listens to it.

you take over something that is huge and has a massive user base already and you can get much more accomplished.

see CNN+ as a current example.

The more I've thought about this, the more it reminds me of a professional conference I attended a few years ago.

A pretty large group of us were invited to dinner by one of the conference big-wigs - he graciously said he'd pick up the dinner tab.

The meal was in an expensive steakhouse, and I thought the guy was being extremely generous. I also noticed that most of the other attendees had no problem at all ordering top-shelf cocktails every time they could flag down a server.

About midway through dinner, the host clarified that he was picking up the meal, but the bar bills belonged to each individual.

It was like a sitcom where you hear a scratching record needle. It was all living large on someone's else's tab, but things changed dramatically when it became apparent that there was a limit to that.

These Twitter employees have gotten a little ahead of themselves, and they're about to learn that there are limits for everything.

Those bots are probably generated by Twitter employees themselves. If THAT truth comes out, stand way, way back! That truth could take down two very high profile companies (the other being Meta) in Silicon Valley with huge economic impact.

Probably trying to prevent a mass suicide event - they evidently needed a “rest” day when there was just the possibility of Musk having a Board seat. I’m sure the snowflakes will be reassured Twitter won’t be sold, true or not. I’ve worked for big corporations before - it’s all about the money ... employees are expendable & lying to them is de rigueur among the corporate elite.

I think he’s playing with Twitter and the stockholders. The value of the stock went up because he bought in, and he just made a huge buy offer that makes all of them money. If the board turns him down, he said he would reconsider his position, meaning if he sells his shares the value drops tremendously. Whichever way this plays out he has shaken them up in a huge way.

I hope he has a plan C.
Investment group Vanguard just bought 10.3% of Twitter.
