Story doesn’t indicate whether the mother or the son called 911 or the police. But if they did, did the son beat the police to his mother’s home? If so, this case could be a poster child for the second amendment supporters . . .

The story is a little garbled
The son told officers he rushed home and found by that time he arrived, the man had broken in the door.HPD said the son shot and killed the intruder as he was trying to breaking into their house.
If the man had broken in the door, why wasn’t he already in the house?

It turned out for the better. The invader chose death from the moment that he decided to break into someone’s home.

"It doesn't look like there's any relation at all, it was just a random thing," HPD Lt. J.P. Horelica said.
Nuts. Likely a druggie trying to steal old person's pain medicine. No mention of what he looked like, or what his name was.

There are some states where you should not try a home invasion.

Nun and Police outfits were unavailable.
It was either Mechanic, or Hairdresser, or Nurse.
The deceased chose poorly.

What a fouled up article. The author can’t even get verb tenses straight.
