My comment about Ottoman Turks stands.

While your comment regarding Ottoman rule is more or less correct, I don't care.

It is Kurdish, Greek, Persian, Syrian and Russian Business, not ours.

I can live just fine with Kurds as my neighbors, I have no designs on their women or children, however they are not my neighbors.

Not so with Ottomans or their Legacy Turks, my ancestors had good reason to mount them on stakes.

I was not trying to excuse anything about the Ottomans, or Turks, and particularly not Turks like Erdogan.

My point was all about what is like to live, as a Kurd, or as an Arab in Iraq, Anatolia or Syria, under the Ottomans, compared to what happened, particularly to the Kurds, after the Ottoman empire was broken up.

Kurds claim they all descend from the Yazidis (Ezidi’s).

Yazidi’s do not take converts and do not approve of marriage outside their group.

For 7 years I followed their struggle in N. Syria and in Iraq and Turkey.

I like them. Had close friends there. Some of them are gone (dead). They lost over 10,000 lives fighting to end ISIS.

My knowledge of their history came from those I knew in N. Syria. Many came to Syria largely during purges in Iraq and in Turkey.

Now you see why I mentioned I had no designs on their women and children.

The Kurds women, make very good soldiers. They fight.

The Ezidi’s have always been against war, until finally the genocides against them tool affect and they now defend themselves.

The Ezidi women are not all alike. Some are blue eyed and blond. Others are red heads.

I’m 74, lost my wife of 47 years in 2018. Remarried 2 years ago. Think this one will be my last. I got another winner. She and I share the kitchen, she is smart (works at a local bank) and she raised 3 children (largely by herself). All 3 of them are great people.
