Russia has said it had test-launched its Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, a new addition to its nuclear arsenal, which Vladimir Putin said would give Moscow’s enemies something to think about.

The Russian president was shown on television being told by the military that the missile had been launched from Plesetsk in the north-west and hit targets in the Kamchatka peninsula in the far east.

“The new complex has the highest tactical and technical characteristics and is capable of overcoming all modern means of anti-missile defence. It has no analogues in the world and will not have for a long time to come,” Putin said

This is an old story. More fake and hysterical news.

The test occurred some time ago. The first paragraph of the article states that but the HEADLINE sounds like Russia did it today.

Hardly.

The RS-28 Sarmat made its first test flight on 20 April 2022, and the Russian government expects the missile to enter service later in the year.

I find articles from March of last year about the missile going into production. So any “first flight” test happened years ago.

You reply makes zero sense, regarding hyperbole. This war has been in the works for over a decade.

It appears Russia and their alliances believe this is the perfect time to make their move and admittedly it is. We are extremely weak and compromised.

Anyone who stands in their way should be threatened and they should be prepared to retaliate immediately. Unfortunately we have idiots and enemies at the helm and we will not be ready and we won’t retaliate. We would have get another to do it for us…probably France.

Russia has the ability to attack with their nuclear Satan II, but they can’t defend against being retaliated against by other nuclear powers.

First test launch of Sarmat ICBM postponed to 2022 — source

According to earlier plans, a test-launch program of the Sarmat ICBM was re-adjusted
MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. The first launch of the latest liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Sarmat has been postponed to 2022, a source in the defense industry told TASS.

“The first launch of Sarmat as part of flight development tests has been postponed from December 2021 to the first quarter of 2022,” he said.

TASS did not receive an official confirmation of this information at the time of the publication.

According to earlier plans, a test-launch program of the Sarmat ICBM was re-adjusted and only one launch would take place this year from the Plesetsk space center.

The RS-28 Sarmat is a Russian advanced silo-based system with a heavy liquid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile. It has been in the process of development since the 2000s to replace the R-36M2 Voyevoda ICBM. It weighs about 200 tonnes and has a throw weight of around 10 tonnes. The Sarmat is capable of breaching any existing and future missile defenses.

Well, the other articles sited say it was tested back in 2019; so who do you believe? Tass, known for incessant propaganda and lies or the western free press who had no reason to lie?
