This reminds me of our company when some came to see how a power line was being built. They got to talking about the Boggy Creek Monster, and the guide told how once they had been hunting coon and heard the strangest sound off in the woods.
One of the women, shocked, asked if they still hunted black people down here.
Answer: “RA-coon Debbie, RA-Coon!”
Some years ago, I was in a meeting with one of our senior people who had spent years posted in Vienna during the height of the Cold War. Not government. Private sector, trade promotion, travelled a lot on both sides of the border. I made some joking reference to his prior experience as a spook. All the men in the room got a chuckle out of my little joke. A couple of young women about had a heart attack.
