Philadelphia's indoor mask mandate is coming to an end.
"Due to decreasing hospitalizations and a leveling of case counts, the City will move to strongly recommending masks in indoor public spaces as opposed to a mask mandate," a spokesperson with the Philadelphia Health Department told NBC10 Thursday night. "Given the latest data, the BOH voted to rescind the mandate."
The spokesperson did not reveal if the decision was effective immediately but said more details will be revealed on Friday.

Mighty white of them.
Cause no one cared...pathetic that they tried to bring it back. There’s a growing wave of people who have had enough.
Philadelphia is run by political sheep. They latch on to every bad idea initiated in other cities but very rarely do they attempt to be out in front on a policy. This time they tried to jump out and lead a new power grab and when they looked back nobody was following. That plus a little nationwide ridicule and a population telling them to go to hell must have been a bitter and embarrassing pill to swallow. Good, evil dictator wannabes. I’ll bet they are really really mad at the citizens of Philly now. Dictators don’t like pushback.
IIRC, it took effect on April 18th and was dropped on the 21st. Like you said the probably, for once, they wanted to be a leader and when every other major city refused to play a long the were cornered and likely looking for a out.
I bet the FL case ending the transportation mandate really backed them in a corner. If the transportation mandate had stayed in place, I bet they would have kept it longer, say 2-3 weeks just to save face.
Political science in action, part XII. These people are such jokes.
The really dumb thing is they dropped it for city buses, subway, etc. Monday due to the courts but made it mandatory to go in a store, gym, etc. COVID is so smart it knew not to get you on the bus, but wait toll you go shopping.

The reverse decision comes only a few days after ... businesses and residents said they were going to sue.
The group, represented by attorney Thomas King III, on Wednesday filed a motion seeking an emergency injunction to halt the mandate, which the city began enforcing Monday.
The filing, which asks the court to schedule a hearing to quickly decide the matter, says the individual persons and businesses represented in the lawsuit face “irreparable harm” from the masking order, which they call illegal.
LOL. That’s what I was going to say.
When you’ve lost Philadelphia...
How long was that reinstatement?
And now Biden is trying to reverse the CDC decision, like an idiot. Its expiring in 2 weeks anyway. So dumb.
CNN+ lasted longer.
It was reinstated this past Monday and they said they’ll drop it on Thursday. So likely it lasted four days, maybe five if they wait until Friday to drop it officially.
I don’t get the CDC trying to get the DOJ To force the mandate again. The cat has left the bag and from what I’ve read pretty much every airline in public transit system, possibly the exception would be New York City’s MTA and maybe somewheres in California has drop the mask mandate.
I think part of it is they are angry at all the videos of the passengers and planes celebrating, along with the cabin crew that the mandates finally ended. People were promised just wear the mask for 100 days and then we can move on from Covid like Biden promised and despite record low cases or hospitalizations they kept extending the mandates over and over again. If they do manage to get it reinstated I don’t think it’s going to be pretty.
Science.
Even DC dropped the public transit mandate. People are done with it.
A total unforced error by mask police on the left. The Biden admin did not fight it at first, probably figuring, "Hey, its going away in 2 weeks anyway and its not popular at all now". But libs cant help themselves. Being out of touch with science, reality, and the public, they could not give up the power and badgered the admin to go to court over it. Please, by all means, force this on people again for no good reason
