The Belarusian railway saboteurs who helped thwart Russia’s attack on Kyiv
WaPost ^ | 23-APR-2022 | Liz Sly

When Russian troops first streamed across the Belarusian border into Ukraine for what they had assumed would be a lightning assault on Kyiv, they were intending to rely on the region’s extensive rail network for supplies and reinforcements.

The Russians hadn’t taken into account the railway saboteurs of Belarus.

Starting in the earliest days of the invasion in February, a clandestine network of railway workers, hackers and dissident security forces went into action to disable or disrupt the railway links connecting Russia to Ukraine through Belarus, wreaking havoc on Russian supply lines.

Always thought there was a lot more going on behind-the-scenes than what is being reported!

probably good that it wasn’t reported, that way Russia has no idea what’s happening to them and no way to react to it

How much railway supply did they need?

They were never more than 50 miles from their own border...

You’re right.

And I still CANNOT understand why the number and kinds of weapons/weapons systems we send there has to be on the nightly news!

Seriously!

Points out the direct connection of the Uke saboteurs now and Belarus anti-Nazi fighters of the mid 30s to the mid ‘40s.

Wow! A useful story from the WA compost!

Next time, the Russians will just seize the railroad and install their own software. Things need to be fixed now so their isn’t a next time.

They were using the Belorussian railways to feed their Belorussian railheads at Gomel and Mazyr. Thats where (in Belorussia) they transferred supplies to trucks.

Consider 99% of all US secrets are withheld from the public, but most of them are known to foreign entities through open sources like trade journals and logistic reports by railroads and other obscure places. What is not found there, is found through spy trade craft.

Only the US public is in the dark.

They were a lot further than 50 miles as they had to drive a couple of hundred miles into Belorussia and across the Dneipr to support the West Bank operation to Kiev. Look at a map.

Russia never intended to take Kviv. They went there to tie down potential reinforcements from going to Donbass.

Putin doesn’t want all of Ukraine. Just the West and South, basically up to the Dneiper in the South, but not north.

And he’s likely to get it.

Because someone wants credit for it.

Putin never intended to ... kill or arrest 150 ministers and general officers. And, it’s a complete surprise to him that so many of his corrupt pals have committed suicide. Also, Putin knew his soldiers were a bunch of idiots. The war in Ukraine was his master stroke to get rid of that element. And, don’t even ask about Armenia losing to Azerbaijan, or Assad having to concede half of Syria to rebel forces. Besides all this, Russia’s tanks are all beyond their “use by” date. So, no big deal. Putin’s using his tanks to deplete the stocks of anti-tank missiles. Soon, Putin will have NATO right where he wants them. But, first, Putin will have to keep the Nazis of Finland Sweden from joining NATO.

“Only the US public is in the dark.”

Mainly because the American public are — to a great extent — too lazy or too disinterested to read between the lines, which is at least 80% of intelligence gathering.

There is a black & white movie called “THE TRAIN” starring Burt Lancaster which is a TRUE story of train personnel trying to prevent Hitler from removing millions of $$$$$ of artwork from the area & to hide it all.

They worked tirelessly & with genius moves to fool Hitler & the Nazis.

The movie is riveting-—and very entertaining.

Putin tried for a decapitation tactic on Ukraine. He was expecting Zelensky to flee to Western Europe on a plane with millions of dollars and live in exile. This would allow him to install a puppet leader and then negotiate a treaty with the new leadership where he gets everything he wanted.

Everyone believed that the Russian army was unstoppable, and that it was a matter of time before they crushed everything. The problem is that 30 years of corruption hollowed out his military, to the point that it is suffering massive losses. Putin is now cleaning house in the FSB (KGB) and arresting the people who lied to him.

Putin may still get a victory in eastern Ukraine, but it will be a victory of attrition. And even that is still in doubt.
