October 2016, when Biden was cuddling up to Russia, is the same month Sweden officially declared hero Raoul Wallenberg dead. The Swedish diplomat with US ties saved thousands of Hungarian Jews from the Nazis and Hungarian Arrow Cross (see George Soros). The issue and mystery of his incarceration by Russia at the end of WW2 and beyond has been a thorn in the side of those who wanted better relations with Russia in both Sweden and the US. The Russians at first denied they had him. Then when that lie was exposed they claimed they had him but he died of a heart attack. When that claim fell flat they came up with more nonsense to cover just how long they kept him prisoner while lying about the case.
Obama claimed Wallenberg was his personal hero. The Nytimes bought the Russian claim he died in 1947. Seems that closing the case was rather important to the administration, more important than say, the Levinson case with Iran or Russian drug smugglers.
