Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia criticized former state treasurer Josh Mandel Saturday while touting his opponent J.D. Vance as a better Ohio Republican Senate candidate ahead of the state's primary election on Tuesday.
"For Josh Mandel, I didn't see the sincerity there. I didn't see the authenticity. I just saw someone that learned to speak MAGA and just repeat it over and over. I'm tired of those candidates. We don't want those people serving in Congress. We don't want those people in Washington. And so that's why I endorsed J.D. [Vance]," Greene said as she stood next to Vance during a campaign rally for him in Newark, Ohio.
GOP Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, who was also at the campaign to back Vance, jumped in after the congresswoman's remarks and said: "I watched the debates and Josh Mandel sort of looks like if you asked Matt Dolan to read talking points written by Jim Jordan. All the words are right, but something just doesn't look correct."
Vance then laughed and agreed with his comments.
In a Saturday interview with Fox News, the Florida congressman further praised Vance and said that the Senate candidate "put on a clinic in the debates, in the primaries."
"Donald Trump saw those debates. He saw the way J.D. was aggressive and assertive, and he had vision and energy....This is the type of leadership we need. This is the type of leadership that Marjorie and I seek in Washington, DC," Gaetz added.

There is a lot of that going around.
If “just learned to speak MAGA” is a valid criticism, Vance is the most guilty. But, who cares when you learned, the question is did you really learn, or are you faking? Hard to tell whether Vance is just being opportunistic.

He did have a choice. He could speak MAGA or he could learn gravitas which is a whole lot more deceiving and misleading than MAGA. It doesn’t have to have a solution, which is what is being discussed. Appearances only. And that’s the real definition of a left leaning politician.

Well she endorsed Vance, so there’s that.
They’re all opportunistic, but I do think that Vance is sincere in his beliefs that the agenda of the liberal/globalist/establishment elite has damaged the middle and lower-middle classes of this country. These have been his themes even before he overtly got into politics.
Vance always stood with MAGA, he just didn’t stand with the candidate early on but then found out he was the real deal and go on board, that isn’t faking. That’s more like an examination of someone before buying. On the other hand, Mandel used to be a pro-China establishment hack, and then he was a Tea Party Patriot, and then he was America First at the last minute (voted for Rubio). But now he is telling McConnell his America First stuff isn’t real. And Mandel is being funded by the group that spent $10m to defeat Donald Trump in 2016.
Mandel is faking it well. Whether it’s the never-Trump Mandel or the Trump butt kissing Mandel remains to be seen.

It is harder for a liberal to fake being a conservative than it is for a conservative to fake being a liberal. How come Conservatives don’t run as liberals and then stab Democrats in the back? (My theory is you need something they can blackmail you with before the RATs let you run)
That theory sounds a lot like the Bush League that has been running the GOP.
Which is why until Trump we could only vote for amnesty candidates.

That’s why he was pro-Rubio and voted for Marco Rubio in 2016.

JD Vance has almost no political track record before 2016, so his record is basically: I didn’t Trump, and then Trump won so now I like Trump in MAGA. Point to me one single thing Vance said or wrote before 2016 that was MAGA.
This is what he wrote during the 2016 campaign, note that he wasn’t so critical of Trump as a person, but specifically of the MAGA policies.
