Tuberculosis Makes Comeback in US Amid Misdiagnosis and Illegal Immigration

One of the world’s leading killer infectious diseases—tuberculosis (TB)— is surging in the United States with cases rising more than 9 percent last year alone.

At present, an estimated 13 million people are living in the United States with latent TB infections, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). TB kills upwards of 12 percent of its victims.

Some of the underlying causes contributing to the recent spike in cases are misdiagnosis as COVID-19 by healthcare professionals and the ongoing migration crisis at the U.S. southern border.

“TB, globally, is one of the most common infections resulting in disability and premature deaths around the world,” infectious disease expert Dr. William Schaffner told The Epoch Times. ....

And it becomes even harder among the population entering the country illegally.

The migration crisis in the United States has stretched the resources of Customs and Border Patrol officials to the limit.

President of the National Border Patrol Council, Brandon Judd, said, “We’re at a breaking point” and pointed to the miles of unpatrolled and open frontier with Mexico, which sees more than 200,000 illegal entries per month.

Dr. Schaffner noted that while the United States has done an admirable job of controlling TB cases within its borders, it’s still very prevalent in places like Central and South America, Asia, and India.

Back in mid-90’s, I returned from Desert Storm with TB (was tested about a year after my return for a transfer situation). Military Doc admitted he had five to ten folks a year from the base who got it from a deployment situation.

This is a gift from those coming across our southern border. My wife used to work for the Texas juvenile justice system. She often said they had several incarcerated youth that were illegal aliens that had it. It was not unusual at all. But, for the rest of the incarcerated population, it was rare.

This is biological warfare. Our community in Tampa FL has been the target of "diaper drops"--both infant and adult green disposable diapers--contaminated with fecal matter being thrown on the streets, sidewalks and grassy areas of middle class subdivisions in the form of garbage bag "Pinatas" which are then burst by oncoming traffic. I have seen "Pinata" bags "staged" at strategic sites, then later tossed into the street by someone unseen. The only communities who are spared these coordinated assaults are the Section 8 apartment complexes which stay miraculously free of litter drops.

The only action taken by county authorities is to dispatch a cleaning crew to bag it all up. There is no effort to interdict or otherwise determine who the criminals are who are responsible for exposing property taxpayers and their families to this hazardous filth. No DNA analysis, no law enforcement involvement or action whatsoever. I have complained to the County Commission which has become a female majority (4 out of 7) with no response from it other than as above.

The authorities are just letting this happen.

Here in Washington state, our largest most secure prison has 20 cases of TB.

Also, last night Tucker Carlson showed a brief segment from an interview he did with a recently released January 6 detainee.

The guy is charged with a misdemeanor but was arrested by a FBI swat team at dawn and confined in the D.C. jail for months.

They tested him for TB when he was arrested and again when he was released.

Obviously, this immigrant TB epidemic is nation wide and not under control.
