we are absolutely drowning in complexity.

* * * *

Essays can be written on that subject, Texas Fossil.

There are so many LAYERS to the complexity problem. And it can be thought of a supply chain issues. Cars require a specially made chip made by one company in Taiwan, for example.

Every large high tech company is really a SECURITY company first because their service doesn’t live without the utmost security.

A few people are discussing the destruction by complexity.

It is a product of computerization. I love technology, but I hate the motives that a few have succeeded in forcing upon us.

For 40+ years, it is no longer about building a better mousetrap, but about building the best money stream and planned obsolescence.

You betcha. When only o.8% of your cars, in Subaru's case, can last until 200,000 miles, somethings wrong. They are basically designed to last 10 years, then fall apart and people who keep them can no longer self maintain so it costs more than the car is worth to keep getting them fixed. https://www.wane.com/news/top-picks/the-most-reliable-car-brands-for-2022/ Leasing may be the best solution IF you can deduct as a business expense.

I grew up along side my father in the shop at the farm. Learned early to maintain and repair equipment.

Never made payments on an auto. Had one 1 year note on first new one we bought. Almost had the money to pay for it.

After that I paid cash for new ones, not many because I wore them out.

We just bought a car last week. Had not planned to buy one, but we had been looking for a pickup for my wife. She fell in love with a very clean used (30,000 miles) Nissan Frontier V-6 crew cab P/U. We got a good price on it and I wrote the check.
