If it’s in the NYT, I don’t bother with it. I’m amazed anyone does.
That video is not evidence of anything. You can’t say who are on video nor what they are doing.
The only solid evidence for Bucha massacre is the video by the Ukrainian Nazis, where they filmed themselves “killing collaborators”. “Collaborator” according to video are everyone in the streets but themselves.
I’m not defending these actions; however, when you pass out weapons to civilians you are making them into partisans. We have no idea what caused this, but typically out-of-uniform actors are not protected by the Geneva convention.
I know the Ukrainians to prosecute these soldiers, and rightly so but the Azov units are also open to prosecution for actions against civilians.
Not our problem.
ALL the survivors in Bucha, tell the same story, Russian soldiers took their relatives and killed them, some in front of their eyes. Now we have video, of Russian soldiers leading the men to their execution. Another drone footage shows the bodies laying there the day after, with Russian vehicles parked around the corner.

Anyone caught with a weapon and no distinguishing badge or uniform is considered a partisan under the Geneva convention. The Geneva convention rules on partisans are clear. Unfortunately the press doesn’t bother to read the Geneva conventions. Summary execution is harsh, but so is war. Russian soldiers have a history of brutality, due to education, internal propaganda, and the destruction Germany wrought during WW2. All that being said, It’s usually either a fanatic in command (peiper at Malmedy) or an officer who has lost control of his troops ( Calley at My Lai) that leads to smaller scale killings of POW. Large scale such as Katyn Forest or the Bataan death march are policy decisions by the government or military leaders. Unfortunately the Ukrainain people are paying the price for US, EU, and Russian global politics. Follow the money, it’s going to the Oil and Gas producers. And the deaths in Ukraine will be small potatoes to the people that will suffer from the food shortage developing around the planet. Ukraine is out of the wheat market, India will now not export wheat, choosing to feed it’s own people, and other countries are reducing their food exports. While the armament producers begin replacing the hardware sent to the Ukraine with new sales to their governments. 40 billion = how many paintings and factory jobs for your state or district. Looks just like the time before WW1.

The government that proudly filmed itself killing its own random people will coerce survivors into telling everything it wants.
How are the bodies by the equipment prove anything? Is there shooting on video?

Do better research. The US congress recognized the “famed” Azov regiment as a terrorist organization and prohibited funding it over massive war crimes in Donbas at the time.

Ironic how Pooty is copying the imperialism and Lebensraum of Adolf Hitler. There are so many millions of Ukrainian refugees already. That if Putin succeeds, he can move Russians into Ukraine to take over the rich Ukrainian farmlands. Make them into expansive Russian corporate mega-farms the way we do that minimizes the labor needed. This can be done with John Deere type modern farm machinery
