Imagine two possible futures for America. In one, the founding principles of the republic are preserved, but the ethnicity of the majority is different than your own. You have to go back further than Bush. Teddy Kennedy, “the Lion of the Senate”, drafted the immigration law that encouraged immigration from the third world over immigration from Europe. This was in ‘65.

Funny he mentions fire in a crowded theater. There was no such case. That came from the Schenck v. United States case. Schenck was arrested for handing out handbills opposing WWI and the draft.
The progressive court said his action was akin to shouting fire in a crowded theater. So it is similar in that respect. The government hates and despises anyone who dares to discuss their trumped up wars.

Long enough ago that opposition to it was shouted down as racism. A charged shouted loudly, repeatedly, picked up by the ‘media (and other ‘beautiful people!)’, repeated in academia, churches, etc. Eventually it became enshrined in the social\political culture as a “factoid”.
