Anyone here remember the Cerro Grande fire in 2000 that burned down half of Los Alamos? That was a “controlled burn” started by the Forest Service during the spring windy season.

Cerro Grande was a controlled burn ignited NOT by the Forest Serice but by Bandelier National Monument the day before predicted Red Flag conditions. The Forest Service, and several State agencies cautioned AGAINST ignition.
