Most Catholic Americans disagree with hardline positions of church leadership [65% of U.S. Catholics say ordination of gay men should be allowed]

The attitudes of many conservative Catholic bishops in the United States are not shared by most Catholics. A majority of lay Catholics support abortion rights, oppose denying Communion to politicians who support abortion rights, and favor greater inclusion of LGBT people.

Considering this poll is a joint venture by the biased liberal Associated Press,[1] [2] and NORC at the University of Chicago whose school of Medicine was named 'LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader' 6th consecutive times, ten its objectivity is questionable. However, the overall liberal leaning of Catholics - whom Rome manifestly considers to be such - overall has been abundantly attested to in various surveys.[3]

What did they call this back in the 60s? “Da Church of What’s Happening Now?”

Doesn’t this line up with surveys by PEW and others?

Either you’re catholic or you are not. According to this poll many are choosing not. In biblical terms it is reminiscent of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Instead of the categories democrat and republican, they should poll the categories: Sunday Mass attending and twice a year or less Mass attending.

I actually agree that most Catholics by a wide margin are very left leaning, In fact, I think the results are actually more conservative than I would’ve guessed.I would’ve thought that the number of Catholics who don’t attend Mass regularly would’ve been about 90% in favor of abortion, gay priests, women priests, etc.

This survey shows that you could get a set of statistics to satisfy your bias claims. I don’t believe any of this BS…period!

Nope...a much more rational...and moral...solution is to allow married men (men married to women that is) to be priests.Homosexuals typically live a sinful life...very sinful...and therefore can be assumed to be unfit to serve as priests.

As for divorced men...it depends on the circumstances. If it was the wife who initiated the divorce then the husband can't be blamed.

I am a practicing Catholic, with a large Catholic

Most Catholics don’t realize Catholicism is not a democracy. The Catholic Church will not change either for a majority opinion, which this silly poll is not representative of, nor an insurgence of a fad regime pope included. Tgey don’t realize The Church has not changed even after having been through many such revolts going back to Jesus Himself having dealt with Judas and the denial of Peter

These polls never include questions such as how many Catholics have a clue on the catechism, how many Catholics have reviewed the tenets of their faith since second grade first communion class. How many Catholics go to Mass regularly enough to know it’s a mortal sin to miss Mass on Sunday

In my large Catholic network of baby boomers and their kids, the answer to most of Tge above is about five percent.

[65% of U.S. Catholics say ordination of gay men should be allowed]

Well, if it's NOT allowed, SOMEBODY'S gaydar is being jammed.

It's OBVIOUSLY allowed. Not only that, this problem is AT LEAST 1000 years old (Google St. Peter Damian and Liber Gomorrhianus), and maybe goes all the way back to the beginning.

Because of the late 19th century construction of "identity" turning men who practiced sodomy into a particular interest group, coupled to the expulsion of priests and religious who "came out" as heterosexual by being married in the 1960s, this has turned into a tsunami which ruined Benedict XVI and has found its champion in Francis I.

I'm afraid this is only going to get worse.

“ Then they are not Catholics”

What most don’t know especially Catholics is that once someone is baptized Catholic they are always Catholic. When they say they’re no longer Catholic they’re pretending.
