Don't close the embassy, U.S. ambassador tells Russia
Fox News ^ | June 6, 2022

Russia should not close the U.S. embassy despite the crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine because the world's two biggest nuclear powers must continue to talk, the U.S. ambassador to Moscow was quoted as saying on Monday.

In a clear attempt to send a message to the Kremlin, John J. Sullivan, the U.S. ambassador appointed by President Donald Trump, told Russia's state Tass news agency that Washington and Moscow should not simply break off diplomatic relations.

"We must preserve the ability to speak to each other," Sullivan told Tass in an interview. He cautioned against the removal of the works of Leo Tolstoy from Western bookshelves or refusing to play the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

Hard to convince when nothing diplomatic has happened between the US and RU since that rotten old slug stole the WH.

If Russia closes its Embassy in DC, that’s probably the time to really worry.

“If Russia closes its Embassy in DC, that’s probably the time to really worry.”

Actually, the time to really worry was when this whole mess started in February. The Xiden Whitehouse clearly had a chance to stop this nonsense by negotiating — which they absolutely refused to do. Now we are paying the price ($100 for a gas fillup, 9% inflation, etc)! This will continue to spiral into an even more critical debacle.

Way to go Brandon!

Teh only reason there is a “crisis” is because Pedo Joe loves the Ukraine more than he loves our own border.

I agree. This whole mess could have been avoided with strong leadership and competent state craft. Instead it was instigated and fueled into a disaster that has already spiraled out of control.

I think Macron has belatedly started to realize that.

Its no accident that Ukraine was attacked on Obama’s and Biden’s watches.

If for whatever reason, accidently or purposely, if the Ukes launch on on those long range missiles deep into Ruskie territory, this war gets ratcheted up a notch.

Biden better be careful. He may wind up getting what he's asking for.

Sullivan is one of the chief architects of the ‘Russian Conspiracy’, so he can eat dog poo and have sex with himself.

Close the embassy. Expel all resident aliens. Stop all commerce with Russian citizens. Send them all to Ukraine to fight for the glory of Mother Russia.

The US would be better off without any of them.

The first targets should be the s400’s being used to keep the Uke Airforce on the ground. They are in Russia, but they clearly fire into Uke space.

If that somehow breaks some Russian “rule” too bad.

They’ll close it so they can go in and massively bug it. Reopening and clearing the building will be very difficult.

This all could have been resolved had we refrained from pushing NATO’s up to Mother Russia borders. She a paranoid old cow and we fed her paranoia by inching closer and closer.

Plus having a doddering old fool in the White House didn’t help matters.

“The Xiden Whitehouse clearly had a chance to stop this nonsense by negotiating — which they absolutely refused to do.”

Negotiate what? Any negotiations were and are up to the two principals: Ukraine and Russia. The US could have been a mediator, but no one trusts us so that was going nowhere. Switzerland could have been a mediator. But, in the end this all falls on Putin for ordering the invasion of a smaller and weaker neighbor who posed no threat to Russia.

That would qualify as defensive use: Targeting assets that have been hitting you is defensive in nature.

The former Soviet Bloc countries of Eastern Europe came to NATO seeking admittance, not the other way around. Those countries knew first hand what it was like living under Russian domination, and they wanted none of it.
