Just another reason why I have no interest in anything other than watching or playing a game with family. It’s a game. Paying people millions to play a game?
I consider myself better than average at welding, driving a semi, operating heavy equipment, and teaching a Sunday school class. Life skills are the necessary reality. Look at the money and time wasted on sports. Making heros out of ordinary people because they can play a game well.
IMO, glorifying athletes is very effective at lowering the observers IQ.

My personal experience with socialists in my extended family and otherwise has been that they all believe that they will be exempt from all the crap that the rest of us are going to be subjected to. Thus they think socialism is just fine.

Yes, Marxists have a warped sense of “surplus value” (profit), believing, in a theoretical error of economics, that most of the “surplus value” is due to labor, not the capitalist. The idea either minimizes or ignores that there would be zero “surplus value” without the capitalist investment in land and production facilities as well as acquisition of the materials and energy supplies required for production. In truth it is the capitalist “product design and delivery” that combines the whole into a means of achieving ANY “surplus value”. Labor, with all due respect, is only one part and an empty part without the capital for building the product.
He was also one of those players furious that the league was making them play during the COVID hysteria.

The governing body of the DSA should be very pleased with doolittle’s donation of his entire capitalism-based salary, minus a small amount for his bare subsistence. A very good socialist is he.
