US and NATO thinking about this conflict has been based on omission of critical factors and total miscalculation.Ukraine is in no wise able to compete with Russia in the critical field of military logistics and the total capacity of the US in that area is not enough to help them.

Don’t you read the war news posted here every day?

Russia doesn’t have any colonels or generals left. The Ukraine killed them all.

No tanks, ship or planes either. The Ukraine destroyed all of them.

And Russian the soldiers are all mutinying and shooting each other.

….well, as Vlad now has 30 percent of the Ukie land mass and within that 30 percent- it holds 70-80 percent of Ukies “ revenues “…..Donbass was their largest industrial and manufacturing base, and holds reportedly huge amounts of undeveloped “commodities “, it is likely the already destroyed economy has no chance of replenishment or replacement, much like the Ukie army.

If Vlad decides to move onto Odessa ( as his population wants- calls from the Duma) Ukraine’s outlook is like a weed that has been sprayed with Round Up.
Watching from abroad, the corrupted little beggar is playing into Vlads hand- he is decimating his own army- post war scenario very grim.

On the 24th, Asia Times pretty much reported the same thing:

‘US and NATO lack capability to supply a long war’

Can’t we send in a division of transmen, and SJW’s? That would scare the hell out of the Russians.

….and incidentally, “ The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially recognized the loss of Severodonetsk, Voronovo, Borovskoye and Sirotino by Ukraine. Thus - June 25 - Day of the 2nd liberation of Severodonetsk from the Nazis.”….well played.

What is the MIC going to do for a boogeyman in the future?

The Ukraine war is demonstrating that attacking and holding any significant amount of territory is too expensive to be practical, even for a developed country military.

Of course, the post-WW II experience was already trending in this direction with the Vietnam War.

And then the collapse of the USSR resulted in the creation of the Islamic terrorism boogeyman, but no luck holding Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Mali, etc.

So back to Russia invading Ukraine, but that’s grindingly slow and extravagantly expensive.

And so far, the Chinese appear to be too cautious to be the new boogeyman. They prefer to win economically, rather than militarily.

Regarding the Chinese:

Why blow it up when cyou can get a long term lease or buy it?
Plenty of world leaders out there who will accommodate.

Yeah, I’ve read all that information/propaganda.

However, I still maintain that Russia has the time, power, geography, and will power to see their foreign policy through.

While the Western Powers wish they did.

We’ll burn through a lot of money and hardware for a “lost cause” though.

Somebody needs to consider the impliations...

This one is not higher math, just higher arithematic. Somebody could have and should have figured this one out a month before it even started; giant sums of treasure and tens of thousands of lives, most of them Ukrainian, could hae been saved. Clearly the people running this stupid business on our side have got **** for brains and need to be gotten rid of like yesterday.

I’m starting to think that the Russians are intentionally slow-walking this war. First, it minimizes their losses (obviously) if they shell a position to oblivion before advancing. But also, it exhausts the weapons supplies of the enemy. Initially, they thought just Ukraine would get cleaned out. But then they saw the old Soviet hardware in Eastern Europe being sent there for disposal. And now they’re seeing much of NATOs most-glitzy (and very quantity-limited) hardware also being thrown away.

And the Russians know the West. In the West, we’re lucky if we can get hardware delivered in 3 years, with the first year taken up by lawyers trying to be sure they comply with every stupid federal rule on procurement, rules which date back to $1800 toilet seats 45 years ago, to today where a specific percentage of subcontractor value has to be given to Drag Queen owned small businesses (not to mention black-owned, Hispanic-owned, women-owned, indian-owned, etc).

...and after 3 years, the meager arsenals of the West will go from empty back to meager - but the weapons will be GLITZY, yet again.

No matter how hard or unanimously the disinfo was pushed, it did not alter basic military facts. The first week of the incursion, 90% of the reports showed the Russians being mauled. 75 years worth of conventional wisdom on the Russians was completely dismissed to accept the newly minted narrative. The amazing part was watching the majority of FReepers swallow the BS hook, line and sinker.
