p>Former President Donald Trump criticized three nominally conservative pundits as well as National Review magazine on Sunday following their recent dismissive pieces of the former president.

Trump excoriated Peggy Noonan, columnist for The Wall Street Journal and former speech writer for President Ronald Reagan; Rich Lowry, editor of National Review; and George Will, columnist for the Washington Post.

"I listen to all of these foolish (stupid!) people, often living in a bygone era, like the weak and frail RINO, Peggy Noonan, who did much less for Ronald Reagan than she claims, and who actually said bad things about him and his ability to speak, or Rich Lowry, who has destroyed the once wonderful and influential National Review, the pride and joy of the legendary William F. Buckley, or George Will, whose mind is decaying with hatred and envy before our very eyes, or Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes, two people who are finally out of the conversation and of no relevance whatsoever,” Trump wrote in a press release distributed by his Save America PAC.

“Where do these people come from?"

Trump's statement followed Noonan’s Thursday column in The Wall Street Journal, where she suggested the Republican Party base was rejecting Trump based on a poll that showed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis leading Trump by 2% in a potential 2024 New Hampshire GOP primary.

Other polls have shown Trump with significant leads in a head-to-head matchup. DeSantis is up for re-election as governor in Florida this year and neither have declared their candidacy for president.

National Review, which has been critical of Trump since 2015, published an editorial Saturday mocking Trump for claiming credit for Friday’s Dobbs decision by the U.S. Supreme Court which overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and returned abortion regulation to the

Agree.
There was a time when she was a strong, sane voice against the Idiocracy.
Then she seemed to just loose it and go crazy.

Three of many folks that can politely be called “Fakeservatives”.

They are Establishment Globalist Republican shills promoting other Fakeservative Republicans the ones that talk conservative for elections then travel to Davos for the WEF among other things.

Those three...ugh. Back in the day I subscribed to NR, there was good writing, and even in the political pieces humor and irony. After WFB's death it went downhill. Will did his best - if ponderous - writing about baseball. His bow-tie act was stale twenty years ago. Why he still gets paid is a mystery.

Reminds me of this column that was once linked years ago on FR when Noonan was suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome: You're Peggy Noonan and you're jealous.

Let's see. Four more years for President Trump, then Vice-President DeSantis will follow, and go on to serve 8 years as President.

Yep. Works for me.

Unfortunately, since Trump changed his legal residence to FL, DeSantis is constitutionally precluded from being Trump’s VP.

Trump taking on the never Trumpers. Good for him. All of these globalists equate American economic dominance with national security and don’t bat an eye to sending US troops to anywhere in the world to lay down their lives in defense of American elites. Trump sees this and opposes such waste. He is a nationalist, a dirty word in today’s world. God bless him!

I remind everyone here that John McCain ALSO claimed to have the provenance of being connected in some manner with Ronald Reagan.

It just goes to show you there are opportunists in this world who will lie, cheat and steal to ‘get their start.’

She is no different.

I read the start of the NR opinion, forgive me, first time reading anything from NR in years. They ignore how smart Trump was to win the 2016 election in the first place. They would have preferred Jeb, who would have lost. Jeb wouldn’t have nominated the three justices Trump did but would have selected three Roberts. In fact, Jeb probably would have lacked the courage to replace Ginsburg. It is a sour grapes opinion by people who are too petty to have the courage to admit their mistake.

I’ll be paraphrasing Rush with this but he spoke about why Republican politicians are almost always disappointments because they want to make sure to be invited to the rich people’s wine tasting parties (especially their wives want this). They lose with dignity so they won’t be kicked out of their social circles. I have a similar feeling to a lot of these talking heads, they want rich liberals to like them. Trump, despite being a rich New Yorker , could care less if these people hate him.

Oh brother. Trump traveled to Davos, twice. The first President to do so since Clinton (Clinton 1x, end of term). Trump is also listed as a WEF agenda Contributer on their website (under Authors).
