Massachusetts’ highest court upholds new mail-in voting law

BOSTON (AP) — An effort led by Massachusetts Republicans to block election officials from putting into effect the state’s new mail-in and early voting law was denied Monday by the state Supreme Judicial Court.

The decision ensures Massachusetts residents will be able to take advantage of the expanded voter options this year.

Opponents had argued the new law — dubbed the VOTES Act — violates the state constitution.

The bill was signed into law by Republican Gov. Charlie Baker in late June after clearing the Democrat-controlled state Legislature. State election officials have already begun readying more than 4.7 million ballot applications to send to voters by July 23 ahead of the Sept. 6 primary.

Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin, a Democrat whose office oversees elections, said the decision is a win for voters of all parties.

“It’s a sign to the whole country at a time when false claims have been causing some states to roll back voter rights that we are moving forward,” he said.

The new law makes so-called “no excuse” mail-in ballots and early voting permanent fixtures in Massachusetts elections.

Yes, and this effort in MA is legal. My question is, “How will they prevent duplicate ballots from being mailed out?”

If a certain John Doe is listed with 10 different mailing addresses, will that John Doe receive a ballot at each of those addresses?

If so, wouldn’t that mean that he gets more opportunities to vote than the average MA citizen?

Voter rolls are known to be horribly flawed.

The rat states will be hard coded to remain rat states no matter how people vote.

Not defending the rule, but in MA they are pretty good at keeping these records clean. I know our town verifies addresses with an annual census. If your name is not listed every year, you are dropped from the rolls.

The other thing that helps is jury duty. Every three years you get called. If the notice gets returned, you are dropped from the rolls.

It is not perfect, but it’s better than most states.

The only way this stuff gets overturned is when a Democrat looses due to massive fraud. Sorry, but that’s the way it is.

Mail-in gives Deep State a heads up on how much they have to cheat to successfully steal an election.

Make it harder for Deep State to cheat.

Increase the chances of Deep State getting caught if they do.

NEVER use mail in if you can make it to the polls on election day.

Ditto for early voting.

Massachusetts is and was a lost cause for Conservatives. Some areas have strong Conservative leanings but the Libs control it at every election.

“It’s a sign to the whole country at a time when false claims have been causing some states to roll back voter rights that we are moving forward,” he [the lying, vote-rigging Democrat] said.

Massachusetts was one of the states used to pump up Basement Joe's "vote" totals to 81 million:

Obama 2008	1,904,097
Hillary 2016 1,995,196
Biden 2020 2,382,202

Notice how the Joek "voters" poured out of the Massachusetts basements to make their tally for the old white guy - nearly 400,000 more than voted for Biden's Clean and Articulate Guy in his record turnout year of 2008.

Maybe Massachusetts Democrats are just racists...

Indeed, that language is clear on its face.

Further, that the State legislatures designate where in the State the meeting of electors will take place, usually in the State capital.

With that, isn't it likely the founders understood that "places" contemplated the voters for those electors would likewise physically appear at a designated voting location?

That is great. Your town is a rarity.

Typically, state courts do not allow locations to ‘purge’ voter rolls, then they allow ballots to go out to every voter on those rolls. This is how so many votes came from deceased people, vacant lots, etc.

If you are lucky enough to receive a ballot, there is nothing preventing you from voting it … IDs and signatures are not checked. This becomes another source of fraud.

Every town in Massachusetts purges its voter rolls if you do not reply to the yearly census.

The Left, the Democrats, and the Judiciary have no interest in fair elections, too much risk that the wrong side could win the election. Much better to have sham elections where the outcome is predetermined and the election is nothing but a sham to convince the public that elections represent the will of the people. If you are living in a state that stage these kinds of elections, leave. The sooner the better.
