They used to fog for skeeters with DDT. We would ride our bikes through the poisonous plumes. There haven’t been any side effects so far.

When the idea of banning DDT was first being bandied about, a California professor said he’d eat a pound of it to show how harmless to humans it is. When I told the story to my jr. high students, they’d always ask, “What happened to him?”

I’d tell them, “He died...while climbing a mountain 30 years later in his 80s.”
