“Civil Service Realignment Act: Move supervisory personnel among departments and agencies on a regular basis, to prevent the establishment of fiefdoms.”

While that is a really good idea I think that Civil Service hires should be subject to the same term limits as politicians. Make them all contractors with contractual non-renewable limits on the life of their employment. The same ‘real world’ argument should apply. At the end of their contract it should be “Thank you for your service. Now go out and get a real job.” Oh another stipulation, you cannot be re-hired at any Federal job for 10 or more years.

This is the “Bible” for the top-drawer presidential appointments.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plum_Book

This a book that lists positions in the United States government that are subject to political appointment. It lists around 9,000 federal civil service leadership and support positions in the legislative and executive branches of the federal government that may be subject to noncompetitive appointment nationwide.

These appointments are how you directly control and shape the policy of the federal bureaucracy without time consuming legislation or blocking federal court actions like wholesale firings would entail. All Constitutional and well established by past use. Historically Republicans are terrible at exploiting this, Rats are not!

Looking back at the then incoming 2016 Trump administration, they seemed to have been totally unprepared for this. As a minimum they clearly had the Republican habit of not quickly taking advantage of the Plum Book.! Additionally, I think Trump naively thought he was dealing with “professionals”. He wasn’t! He left US Attorneys in place (Rat administrations fire these guys by the time oath office is complete!), he left Agency heads and their deputies etc. in place far far too long (They all should have been fired and escorted out on Day 1!). Remember his dinners with Comey, etc. Also he should have conducted security & communication audits. His most devastatingly bad pick was the AG. It set him up deliberately or not for all the mess that followed.

I’d really like to be there to witness Adam Schiff dancing on the end of a rope...To hear any last words and to watch his crazy legs flail in vain.

I want something more radical.

I want a GOP led House with a GOP led Senate, if we have them after November 2024, to give a GOP President, if we have one in January 2025, to 100% suspend all the civil service hiring and firing regulations, across the entire executive branch, for a period of two years. Then we can drain the whole swamp.

It would also include a two year permission for axing and eliminating whole units - departments, in the federal agencies.

With a slim and trim federal government we can then plan on how to get to a balanced budget with no increase in the federal debt limit.

I think you are right. Our whole government, Democrats, Republicans and bureaucrats, is controlled by people that are sympathetic to the globalist/commie movement, or are compromised by taking payoffs and cannot fight it. Nobody in government seems to have the will to fight this evil. They are all playing misdirection on cultural issues that consume the attention of the public, while the REAL dirty work that will hang us all goes on behind the scenes.

I hope Trump picks a better crowd to surround himself with this time around than the gaggle of imbeciles, back stabbers, and deep state stooges that he brought in during his first administration.

But then I have to ask myself, will he?

Fear is grossly underrated as a weapon. There have to be consequences for their continued malfeasance.

You would need different Republicans than the Assistant Democrats we have been electing.

When the new Congress is seated in January, assuming it will be primarily MAGA, one of the first things it needs to do is to pass a law (codify this, do not let it be an executive order) that ALL civil service, foreign service, intelligence service, and military service personnel hold their positions at the sufferance of the President. And, all contracts and contractors, down to the lowest levels, are subject to cancellation by an administration. Unions be damned, if officers of the federal government and contractors thereto cannot serve honorably, there needs to be a mechanism established that allows them to be put out the door.

This is somewhat good news. The establishment is the number one barrier to America first policies. It is also the source of our economic woes. The IRS is in the middle of hiring 100,000 new employees. Ever single IRS employee contributes to economic problems. 1.) they are not working in the private sector where they can build something of value. Call this productivity. They are unproductive. 2.) They stifle productivity in the actual mission of the IRS. 3.) They increase government spending. That’s the spending of money we do not have. 4.) They stifle productivity of the private sector, making it more expensive to do business.

Government spending is the prime contributor to inflation. They spend money that we do not have and either have to go further in debt or print money. The only real solution is eliminating vast portions of government and the employees associated with government. I hope MAGA replacements will be there to help with the transition to the unemployment lines for most of the useless drags on the economy and our freedoms. But it is vitally important to have replacement policy/laws ready to go with elimination of these people from government jobs. As for the IRS, there needs to be a complete overhaul of the tax code. That must include simplification. The best way in my analysis is the implementation of a consumption tax collected thru the current state sales tax system and the elimination of all other taxes. The IRS should be completely shuttered. The Treasury Department can have a bureau for collecting constitutionally allowed tariffs and another bureau for collecting excise taxes. The payment of consumption taxes by the states is simply an electronic funds transfer, requires no federal enforcement, no employees, no auditors, no lawyers, no janitors. It is simply an accounting function of the US Treasury.

Anything short of complete shuttering leaves the problems of government intact and really isn’t a serious solution.

FEAR. And Axios has ZERO knowledge of any of the inside operations of Trump and MAGA. It shows in how this article makes great leaps of assumptive claims... telling all what they fear to try and gin up fear in dems to rescue what is left of Pelosi’s corrupt disgusting pocket lining “rule”. Fear.

It is FEAR turned into an offensive weapon. They are preemptively planning to discourage these very things from happening so if by chance Trump does win the election (an infinitesimally small chance since Stable Genius did NOTHING to prevent voter fraud and the democrats will have 4 years to PERFECT their algorithms) they will have been intimidated into not doing any of the things axios is claiming. Just like rigged questions during the debates like they pulled on Schitt Romney, they will do it to Trump: "Do you plan on implementing the so-called "Dark MAGA" plan many of your far-right white supremacist follower are urging you to do? The plan is to use that as a debate "gotcha!" and hope republicans running for office all over take the bait. It will also server to scare CONservative cowards away from wanting to serve under Trump.

Which will totally be like typical repugnicant losers. Weak and stupid. We will not make it to the election anyway, so I do not know what axis is so concerned about. Although for the record, I say this article goes nowhere near far enough.

Good news indeed. Trump would have been better off to do that his first month in office. Too many snakes were there dedicated to “get Trump” and not do what’s best for the nation.
