Ukraine Has Ground Down Russia’s Arms Business

Russia’s planned big-ticket arms sales in Africa are expected to take a hit as a result of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, U.S. defense and intelligence officials told Foreign Policy, depriving the Kremlin of a major revenue source as the five-month war continues to devolve into a bitter stalemate.

The Defense Department and U.S. intelligence officials believe that Russia’s severe losses of high-end equipment in Ukraine, including hundreds of tanks and helicopters disabled by American- and European-provided shoulder-fired rockets, will begin to cause significant slowdowns in the Kremlin’s arms deliveries into Africa, which could give inroads to Russia’s competitors, such as China and the United States. Russia accounts for nearly half of major arms exports to Africa, according to a count by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, primarily supplying weapons to Algeria, Egypt, Sudan, and Angola.

“We anticipate that they’re going to have a real problem delivering equipment at the rate they’re losing equipment in Ukraine,” said a senior U.S. intelligence official, speaking on condition of anonymity based on ground rules set by the Pentagon.

The Ukrainian armies should take care to have winter clothing for their troops as they roll toward Moscow on their vast counteroffensive!🤗

...why exactly would anonymity be required by the Pentagon on a matter that doesn't involve American military resources?

This conflict is slowly moving towards trench warfare. Started out as “Shock and awe”, currently a war of logistics. Absent any progress from one side or the other, it will degenerate into a series of static defenses.

Uh, after watching how Russian military equipment is performing in combat, why would any country want to buy it?

More BS… Best thing that ever happened to Ukraine is the Russian invasion.

Three Ukrainians were killed Wednesday during a Russian airstrike, including a 13-year-old boy who was seen in harrowing images dead on the ground as his father gripped his lifeless hand

Two men carry the dead teen away from a bus stop in Kharkiv. A 69-year-old man and his wife were also killed in the attack, authorities said.

Russian equipment losses to U.S. and NATO weapons is not helping the image of the Russian arms industry either.

12 million Ukrainians are refugees with 900,000 of their homes destroyed and your spouting Russian propaganda. There is NO justification for Putin's invasion.

Oh, I don’t know about that. By the time you’ve filtered out every causus belli that turned out to be bullshit, you’re left with Putin’s fetishism over Peter The Great, a 100 year old map, and “Smash the Old World Order For Benefit Make Russia Great Again.”

It’s really all very simple, and that’s why these tortured eleven-dimensional-chess theories to try and make any of the other risible bullcrap stick - whether it’s bioengineered nazis, 4000 Azov nazis on the verge of taking 6 million people hostage, American biolabs posing a bigger threat than the ones in Russia that keep leaking their shit out and killing people, bioweapons that aren’t being used (as opposed to, cough, Novichok), Ukraine scaring Russia into action (ROFLMAO), Ukraine (”still”) committing genocide in the Donbass (despite even the DPR admitting repeatedly that the genocide ended in 2019), NATO expansion (well, THAT backfired spectacularly...)

Russia has one excuse that sticks. It’s bonkers, it’s batshit mental, but it fits. Not only that, they’ve been writing books about it since 1993.

The ending of the USSR was a mistake.
The ex-SSR states are still Russia.
They only THINK they’re independent.
Those agreements at the UN, recognizing their independence? Mistakes.

Russkiy Mir! Novorussiya! Wild steppe! Let’s party like it’s 1802! Might is right!

Russia tossing itself off furiously over this vision (on their daily froth telly) is so over-the-top hammy ot reminds me of Davros in Remembrance of the Daleks.

“I will transform Skaro’s sun into a source of unimaginable power and with that power at my disposal the Daleks shall sweep away Gallifrey and its infinite quorum of Time Lords! The Daleks shall become lords of time! We shall become all...”

At which point, the Doctor just pricks the pomposity. “Powerful! Crush the lesser races! Conquer the galaxy! Unimaginable power! Unlimited rice pudding! Et cetera, et cetera!”

Davros threatens him and the world with annihilation. He retorts, “Oh wonderful! What power, what brilliance! You can wipe out the odd civilisation, enslave the occasional culture, but it still won’t detract from the basic, fundamental truth of your own impotence!”

That’s Putin’s Russia in a nutshell. Almost Shakespearean in its “sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Russia’s doing all of this because the Motherland has the mother of all inferiority complexes.

Most civilians killed in the Donbas oblast are as the result of ukrop arty not Russian

Have u watched anything but globalism propaganda

Patrick Lancaster has 100s of videos of interviews with Donbas civilians telling this and has been shelled himself countless times

Ukrop forces purposely due to their weakness as the inferior combatant hide in civilian quarters to launch knowing Russia is hesitant to hit civilians especially those who are sympathetic to a free or non uke Donbas which is the vast majority
You don’t believe me ask Matt here he has even more sourcing than I do

There would be no separatists or war in Ukraine without Russian intervention/invasion. Patrick Lancaster married a local and has children there. He is completely dependent on Russian's allowing him to stay and 'report' from there. If he started posting anything critical, his ass would be deported. So thinking Patrick Lancaster is anything more than a Russian stool is naive.
