For years, European policymakers had assured the world that the relatively rapid "transition" to "green" energy was the world's preordained future -- regardless of the costs.

Accordingly, many European Union governments followed the advice of green experts. They eagerly shut down coal, natural gas, and nuclear power plants to transition immediately to "renewable energy."

Exactly. Only fools trusted the ‘experts’.

Remember the definition of an expert: an ‘ex’ is a has-been and a ‘spert’ is a drip under pressure.

How did this “expert class” come into being, and when?

You can buy your own experts, so they’re pretty much meaningless.

Like all the “experts” who told us Trump would never be elected president.

Oh how true. The expert is always far away. You could have someone at work with 25 years of experience doing something, but the company will hire an outside consultant from the other side of the continent to tell them the exact same thing the employee will.

It’s best to never call yourself an “expert”, you’ll only look foolish. For some reason Dr. Fauci comes to mind.

Unfortunately it's human nature.

Luke 4:24 - And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

Matthew 13:57 - And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown and in his own household is a prophet without honor."

Just like a prophet has no honor in his home town.

Most citizens were afraid to object that in cloudy, cold Germany solar panels were not viable methods of electrical generation -- especially in comparison to the country's vast coal deposits and its large, model nuclear power industry.

As a result, German government officials warn that this winter, in 19th-century fashion, families will have to burn wood -- the dirtiest of modern fuels -- to endure the cold. And there is further talk of "warm rooms," where like pre-civilizational tribal people, the elderly will bunch together within a designated heated room to keep alive.

More Really Good timing with their idiots in charge!

Travis McGee, Thanks for posting the great economic reality for the ETU, Euro Trashy Union versus Russia. Also, a reality lesson versus Harvard/Yale B$ and our MMS B$ers.

Oktoberfest may be AXED due to Putin gas crisis, and Bavarian breweries told to stop making BEER as it's revealed Germans must pay £1,000-a-year 'gas surcharge' ON TOP of bills and Hanover turns off hot water!

Germany could be forced to scrap Oktoberfest celebrations and its famous Christmas markets as officials desperately search for ways to save energy after Russia began throttling gas supplies to Europe.

Hanover, yesterday became the first major city on the continent to announce it will turn off all hot water in public buildings to conserve energy, while Berlin has begun dimming streetlights and Augsburg has turned off public water fountains.

Although Europe is scrambling to get energy from elsewhere, any difficulties this winter could be a harbinger of worse to come if Russian gas supplies are completely severed and stay off through 2023, said France’s minister overseeing energy, Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

“If gas deliveries are cut by the end of the year, that will mean we’ll have a full year without Russian gas, so the following winter could be even harder,” Pannier-Runacher told French senators.

I used to trust the expertise of VDH. He totally discounted how serious the Ukraine/NATO provocation was to the Russians. He misread what the results of our unilateral scrapping of the balance of power in Europe would be. A balance of power that VDH used to acknowledge had kept the peace since 1945.

Think of the 88 professors at Duke. Didn’t cost them anything.

Well, it’s become clear the middle class is being manipulated and abused. The “expert class” is simply the mouthpiece of the abusive machinery.

Fifty retired intelligence officers, however, without evidence, swore that the laptop's appearance could be due to "Russian disinformation."

A good start. We need to start turning this phrase back on them.

Experts are just people that live more than 200 miles away.

Reminds me of the Mad Magazine cartoon where the surgeon asks the patient if he wants a local anesthetic, and the patient replies, "No, I want the best ... give me an imported one!"
