The tort of defamation has been around far longer than Alex Jones or any of us has even been alive. This is not a “precedent.” Any of us would have rightfully sued if Jones or anyone made such claims about us.

The nature of the “claims” may be weirder than you think.

Is it “defamation” if someone claims that “all citizens of State X are liars” and then one citizen of that state sues the speaker?

It looks like that is what Jones did—he said all the parents were crisis actors, and then one parent sues him for defamation even though he did not specifically mention them as an individual.

This is an ugly precedent.

I haven’t followed this closely, but my understanding is Jones never used a single name of a parent in his misguided conspiracy theories. If that is the case, then this does set a new precedent. It means you can be sued when referring to an unincorporated group of people. If that’s the case, then we’ll all be rich for the slander against freedom loving Americans. So bring it. Meanwhile, I am sure Jones will appeal and it ain’t over until the fat lady sings.

It's unsurprising that you've chimed in with this.

The big Media can defame all they wish [DNC stooge-judges will rubber-stamp the defamations] - but this will be used to crush anyone questioning The Narrative in public.

And you'll be marching in lockstep.

<>Alex Jones is patient zero for alternative facts,” the attorney argued, proving the case is less about the families and more about the establishment’s war on free speech.<>

Can you please provide us with a video of Jones saying it was a false flag? He never said it... not once. He had guests on who wanted to debate it. He explored a Daily Beast story that was discussing crisis actors, etc.

He never once said it was his opinion that it was fake.

That is why you cannot find a film clip of him saying that. Make sure you actually know what you -think- you know.

Yes, it will surely help those families bring their lost child back to life.

Sorry. To me, the scale of the award is lawyer grift and parent greed.
