Senate hopeful John Fetterman (D., Pa.), a former mayor who is casting himself as the man who "worked to rebuild" the town of Braddock, Pa., missed more than a third of the borough’s monthly meetings during his time in office.
Fetterman skipped 53 meetings as mayor of the Pittsburgh suburb from 2006 to 2018, according to documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
Fetterman has been dogged for years by criticism of his spotty work history.
Jesse Brown, a former Braddock borough council president, said in 2015 that Fetterman "should have been at all council meetings," but stopped showing up after several confrontations over his duties as mayor.
He first came in thinking he was in charge of everything," said Brown, who also criticized Fetterman for taking credit for Braddock’s economic revitalization.
“Everything that’s happened in this community, he’s gotten credit for it. The people believe that all this has come about through John Fetterman, but it’s not true."
Chardaé Jones, who succeeded Fetterman as mayor, said Fetterman’s failure to show up to city council meetings eroded his relationships with councilmembers.
"When you’re not present at council meetings, there’s not much of a relationship there," she told Politico.
Fetterman has faced similar complaints as lieutenant governor.
State Sen. Tony Williams, the Democratic whip, told Politico that Fetterman often failed to show up to preside over Senate sessions, hampering his ability to forge ties with policymakers.
One area where Fetterman has shown up to work as lieutenant governor could hurt him in November.
As lieutenant governor, Fetterman’s only official duty is to oversee the Board of Pardons.
Fetterman has embraced the role, voting to FREE MULTIPLE MURDERERS from prison, a record that has drawn criticism from a group of Pennsylvania sheriffs.

He and his record are under a lot more scrutiny in a national election, so now we’ll get a more balanced view of his history, flaws and all.
“ Senate hopeful John Fetterman (D., Pa.), a former mayor who is casting himself as the man who “worked to rebuild” the town of Braddock, Pa.”
Braddock has NOT been rebuilt, and there has been no economic revitalization to speak of. It was and still is a very depressed area. And a place to avoid at night.

Fetterman is a Demoncrat slug. This proves it.
He’s one of their own, Oz is not.
No problem there once the votes come in from Philly. The fraudulent voting machines are unbeatable.
Sounds like Obama's behavior when he was a U.S. Senator. Interestingly but not surprisingly, Obamas's dereliction of Senate duty was of no concern to those who made him President 2x.
Uncle Fester Fetterman is a delusional nitwit.
All the PA purists on FR make me want to puke. They’d rather have a walking cadaver be their senator than someone not as pure as them. I’ll say it. They are idiots who love themselves more than their state and country.
Well, he did wear his best mechanic’s shirt for his official photo, so how bad can he be?
Maybe he can’t speak because he had a STROKE a few weeks ago!!
Oz MAY be a SLIMEBALL, but we MUST VOTE for him because Fetterman is a COMMUNIST!! COME ON!! THINK PEOPLE!
Fetterman’s official photo pretty much sums up his respect for his official duties and obligations as a public servant, the only times his name ever showed up in PA media was when he was subverting or flouting the law.
That said, his image as this lumbering oaf is very deliberate, he’s a whole lot more clever than his opponents are led to believe, and he is as hard left as they come.
Oz wasn’t in my top three for the PA primary, but he won the primary and whatever Oz is, Fetterman is many times worse. If I could root for the Eagles through the Kotite and Ray Rhoades years, I can handle Oz as Senator.
I’ve said this before. There are two components to voting:
1. Award a candidate with power,
2. Deny power to a candidate.
It’s great if your vote is all item 1 or evenly divided between the two. However sometimes item 2 is far far more important. People like Saunders and his Pennsylvania acolyte Fetterman are too dangerous to allow them to have power.
Anyway I don’t live in Pennsylvania, so it’s their decision.
Who would expect anything different from a pothead who lived off his parents until his 40s?
Fetterman reminds me of De Blasio. Just a lazy progressive, talking point spewing parasite.
That one is going to be a real clown show in the Senate. His commercials are an unbelievable stereotype of Pennsylvania’s citizens.

You are totally right. They hope Fetterman wins. They keep trashing Dr. Oz, hoping they can convince people not to vote for him.

You’re right. Fetterman studied finance at Albright College, where he received his bachelor’s degree, followed by a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. Then he got a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard.
