Florida Democrat Governor’s Race Is Up in the Air as Polls Send Mixed Signals

The Democrat primary race for governor in Florida remains up in the air leading to the swiftly approaching election, as various polls send mixed signals; separate surveys this week show both Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) and Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried (D) leading.

The Sunshine State’s Democrat primary race, which takes place Tuesday, August 23, 2022, is widely believed to be between two main candidates — Crist and Fried. While Crist has been assumed throughout the primary to be the clear leader, a recent survey from the Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) at the University of North Florida suggests otherwise.

I’m not sure which one I want DeSantis to face. Crist is most likely the easier to beat. Nikki is the only statewide winner in Florida in recent election so voters voted for her already. Tough choice for our side to desire to win.

That woman can play the woman card - that has to be good for a couple of percent.

Crist is about out of cards. He has used the Republican Card; the Independent Card; and the Democrat Card.

He has just one pop culture card left. And yes, it is good for a couple of percent as well.

I think Crist may be easier to beat. There will be months of “first woman ever” if that woman gets on the general election ballot.

It really doesn't matter. DeSantis will easily steamroll over either of them.

DeSantis losing his re-election would portend such an absolute catastrophe that virtually every (R) candidate would follow him down in flames, a defeat that would defy the odds of every pundit and prognosticator, and could really only happen if the Dobbs decision was such a calamity that it energized every woman in the United States to vote Democrat.
