The president said he was “honored” to sign legislation last year making Juneteenth, which marks the day the last enslaved African Americans were told slavery had ended and the Civil War was no more, a federal holiday.
Biden also recognized Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) among the lawmakers who have pushed to establish Slavery Remembrance Day on Aug. 20.

‘Great nations don’t hide from their history’ Then why are the historical statues being pulled down? Schools, roads and buildings being renamed? Sport franchises being renamed?
Acknowledging one's mistakes is probably a good thing, but the left has moved into self-loathing, and that's never good.

Interesting....
Historic African American Sites in Virginia
Launched in February (Black History Month) 2019, this online catalog of Commonwealth sites listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places associated with African American history will continue to grow as DHR adds new listings to both registers

They have ALWAYS been about guilt and shame of the US. The only time the US is perfect for the commie libs is during the Civil War, when everything the “US” did was perfect.
Outside of that short time, they have ALWAYS hated the US. They are the very definition of traitors.

There were still slaves after June 19, 1865, in the slave states which had not seceded, until the ratification of the 13th amendment in December 1865. What event happened on August 20?
Probably only a few hundred slaves in Galveston learned of the end of slavery on June 19, 1865. It would have taken days or weeks for all the slaves in Texas to learn the news.
When are they going to institute an Indentured Servant Remembrance Day?

the wokesters claim that institutional racism permeates America. They're right. It does.
American government and institutions are systematically bigoted against White people.
