As the brutal conflict between Moscow and Kyiv continues unabated, the Russian Defense Ministry has started mass manufacturing Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missiles, expected to be documented by end of 2022.
On the sidelines of the Army-2022 forum on Saturday, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in a televised interview with Rossiya-1 channel said, “We are starting serial production of the Tsirkon missile. In fact, we have put it (the missile) into service, and it will be documented as early as this year, let’s call it that," TASS reported.
Shoigu emphasized that the contracts signed at the Army-2022 conference included the manufacturing of cutting-edge weaponry, such as Sarmat missiles. He declared, "As for Kinzhal missiles, of course, [their] production will be continued".

What are the capabilities of the Tsircon supersonic missile? Will they be able to get the computer chips they need? Do UK and other countries need laws to keep the Chinese and other potential enemies from buying things like computer chip factories? Or prevent production or export of certain kinds of chips?
Yes, the UK needs to pass a law making it illegal for China to buy chip factories, and also make it illegal to produce certain kinds of chips. That is an amazing idea!
Maybe it should be illegal for them to make rockets also, and fighters, and nukes.

I concede the point. I am still skeptical of their current manufacturing capabilities. They have a number of weapons systems, from tanks to small arms that were supposed to be in service by now, but aren’t.

The alleged shortage of chips in Russia is a projection of the US situation where the MIC relies on Asian supply and lack domestic sources.
Even though some Russian equipment have some basic foreign circuits, not a single system is going to get accepted by the military unless every single piece can be sourced domestically.
There are 23 chip makers in Russia for Lord’s sake! They produce more advanced chips than 97% of other countries, including G7 countries.
And what is the problem to ignore the “show trial”? Ze held such trials of Russian servicemen. The problem is 9 years of abuse of city of Mariupol by the Azov Nazis, including rapes, robberies and false imprisonment. You can bet on mainstream media to ignore it, but inquiring minds are free to evaluate the evidence to know what sort of dictatorship Ze’s regime is.
China, India and the third world, plus Russia has domestic production of chips. They are better off than the US in chip production and procurement.
