Two popular gay clubs in the French Quarter are hosting a "vaxxtravaganza" — an outdoor block party to promote public health on Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Health officials will be at Oz and and Cafe Lafitte’s in Exile to distribute both monkeypox and COVID-19 vaccines, in addition to providing STI screenings, HIV testing and overdose prevention resources.
The event is part of a broader effort to curb the spread of the monkeypox virus as the city gears up for the Southern Decadence festival, which is expected to bring in thousands of visitors for a weekend of parades and parties celebrating LGBTQ culture.

Is that the hind quarter?
Major insertions? 💉😲
Bet more cases come out of the event than are prevented.
Ah, but the public-health authorities are “doing something”.
Buh bye, f@gs.
What? MPX, syphilis, HVC, Meningitis or HIV?
I'm betting all of them.
Southern Decadence Festival...

I won’t post that image!
This pox is so easy to kill of that I can only assume the people involved in spreading it just don’t care.
That’s the way it goes.
There are many other things going on in this area making such an event necessary...
When HIV arrived, homosexuals in San Francisco protested closing the bathhouses. That was when getting AIDS was a death sentence.
Monkeypox usually lasts for a few weeks, then goes away. Deaths are quite rare.
If the very real threat of a horrible death did not change their behavior, that will require more than the threat of monkeypox.
wouldn’t even have to be abstinence...just don’t sleep around with dozens of people.
A very needed location for the Vax.
