Thanks, Biden!: Ford Increases Price for Electric Mustang Mach-E by as Much as $8,000

Ford is reportedly raising the price of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle by as much as $8,000 just a few weeks after increasing the price of its planned electric pickup truck the F-150 Lightning. Although the company blames inflation, supply chain problems, and “rapidly evolving market conditions,” the price hikes come just after Joe Biden’s climate and spending bill passed including electric vehicle rebates eerily similar to Ford’s price increases.

The Verge reports that Ford is raising the price of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E just a few weeks after increasing the price of its electric pickup truck, the F-150 Lightning. The automaker stated that it was reopening the order banks for the electric SUV with an adjusted MSRP due to “significant material cost increases, continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions.”

It’s up to the people to resist, and if the people don’t resist...

In the case of the plant in Georgia, the people did and continue to resist. They have been and will continue to be ignored. And better yet, about 700,000 of them voted for the person responsible for all of it, in his primary.

That doesn't sound like resistance at all. That's being complicit and ignorant.

Don’t worry the garage will burn up with the car in it before 8 yrs is up. Where did I read that some insurance companies are cancelling house insurance for people that own electric cars?

The gas F-150 truck with just 4 gallons of gas has more energy then the electric F-150 at full charge.
Articles showing the electric F-150 range drops to as little as 83 miles while towing a camper.

5 minutes to refuel to a full tank for the gas version to a couple of hours charging the electric with a fast charge to a couple of days off of home current.

Not everyone has a home either to plug in but live in an apartment building where you would have to run extension cords everywhere. The building owners will not allow as the cost is enormous to install chargers and the electric vehicles are fire hazards plus the electric grid cannot support this. Then there are the copper thieves.

The cost of electricity will skyrocket.

Not to worry.

The government will make sure that, people have detached garages, even if the government has to pay to build them. Or, the government will make sure that there are enough charging stations within a block of all EV owners, thereby eliminating the possibility of insurance companies cancelling house insurance. Or... the government will cover the home insurance of all EV owners.

See? Government will have an answer for all potential problems that arise from EV ownership, even if they have to ruin the economy completely. It's that important in order to save the planet from climate change.

I owned a Pinto wagon. Great car. 4 on the floor, plenty of room in the back for guitars, amplifiers and speakers.

I own a Mach e now. Got the rebate, got it before the above sticker gouging. Great commuter car. Fold down the back seats and it has plenty of room for guitars, amps and speakers! But only for gigs less than 75 miles away.

Love both cars. HATE the government involvement into the free market. But yeah, I took the rebate cuz it was there. I pay in way more than I get out of the IRS so I’ll take any break I can get.

“ I believe I heard from Ford that their future plan is to not sell cars but to LEASE them.”

I think they are talking about a “subscription”. If it’s an option, fine. I usually (not always) buy used and drive ‘em for a long time.

“That’s not a Mustang.”

Ford calls it one. And, take it from me, it It’s a blast to drive. Acceleration and torque out the wazoo.

I think it has an electronic governor that limits it to 120. Dunno, only had mine to 100. It felt as solid as when going 50. Smooth, quiet, didn’t break a sweat.

I did; I don’t like tickets. But that time I had someone in front of me going that fast or faster on an empty 4 lane late at night.
