A D.C. Superior Court judge Thursday struck down D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s order that all District employees be vaccinated for COVID-19.
Bowser instituted the mandate last August requiring vaccination or weekly COVID-19 testing for D.C. government workers in offices reporting directly to her, and proof of vaccination was later required by Feb. 15, 2022, according to Judge Maurice Ross’ decision. Ross found Bowser was not authorized to unilaterally require vaccination and ordered that all Fraternal Order of Police members be fully reimbursed for pay and benefits lost as a result.
“Had the Mayor just engaged the Union in good faith bargaining we could have reached a reasonable compromise that protected everyone’s interests,” D.C. Police Union Chairman Gregg Pemberton stated, reacting to the decision. “Now, all of our members can go back to doing the necessary work of trying to protect our communities from crime and violence without unlawful threats of discipline and termination.”

The District of Columbia does not appear to have a contingency plan for unvaccinated students, who are banned from attending schools in person this fall after the first twenty days, according to comments made by Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser Thursday.
During a press conference, Bowser, a Democrat, admitted there are no alternative options, including virtual learning, for students who cannot attend school due to the District’s vaccine mandate, meaning unvaccinated children will effectively be left without an education.
Over 40% of blacks ages 12-17 are not vaccinated, according to city data.
Interesting use of word “vaccinated “.Does that mean all vaxxes? Weren’t normal childhood vaxxes already required.
This is ignorant and dangerous for the kids
At one time they were. Now, who knows. My yellow vax record card vanished years ago. Haven’t some religious groups gone to court over those vax requirements over the years? I can’t recall. Last shot I got was tetnus shot last year.

I’m completely against this ruling. DC wants self rule and this is their chance. Mandate DC government scum to take the experimental gene therapy. Boost, double boost, and boost some more. Then die.
The vaxx is on it’s last legs. Anybody who still is taking it is deceived and a fool. It’s surreal it’s still being mandated in places.

We have had safe rule for years. What they want is statehood. That would be the beginning of the end for America.

It is indeed truly bizarre. After all the prominent and not-so-prominent, triple and quadruple-vaxxed people got covid, what person with a functioning brain would think that these “vaxxes” have any efficacy at all in terms of preventing infection? Even the deplorable (and covid-infected) Fauci is making statements along the lines of “the vaccines aren’t so good at protecting against infection but they do limit severe disease.” The latter claim is also dubious, but the whole rationale for a mandate is to prevent infection.
Power-trippers do hate giving up any power.
I think you are right. There are 44 states AND DC that allow religious exemptions for childhood vaxxes.
So what if those 40% claimed religious exemptions?
