If I was dictator, I’d make a LAW (Obama “pen & phone”) for this very situation! If you are a company serving the public and you refuse said service to a member of the public, you must provide with that refusal a SPECIFIC REASON for that denial. If you just say violation of service agreement (Twitter & Facebook), you are denying the ability to fix the problem! This is not what our society is supposed to be, it is the nebulous ‘shadow banning’ that is more Kafka-esque and anathema to social discourse.

…they have a right to exclude any American traveler for whatever reason they like.

Do you think you have a right to fly on any corporation’s plane?

Where does this right come from?

“There has to be more to this story.”

There better be. For a business to ban service to a person without falling under the existing criteria, and therefore just for personal opinion while the banned person exercises his/her first amendment privileges, is a federal offense and can be raised to a felony based upon the amount of people they have done it to already alone. If the guy pushes it to court, they can get blitzed.

Let that sink in.

The owners of the lunch counter had the legal (not the moral) right to refuse service to blacks. Since then we’ve passed laws making it illegal to discriminate on the basis of race.

The 14th amendment requires equal application of the law.

Ours expire in 2026.

But you wonder what’s loaded on it? 95% chance it’s nothing good for you.

“And if Delta put him on the no fly list because he’s MAGA, how stupid could they be??”

I worked as a consultant on a project for Delta many years ago. Yes, they could be this stupid.

Just imposed by corporations instead of the state

That collusion between ostensibly private firms and the government is the real definition of Fascism, not "meanies in uniforms". The existence of private property / companies is the ONLY distinction between fascism and communism, but the so-called private firms are always compliant arms to 'voluntarily' aid in execution of state policy.

By the way, there are 'private' companies in China. It went from communist to fascist once they allowed that.

Well you said what I have been wondering for years:

If Mussolini was to be believed, then fascism is the merger of state and corporate power.

That sure sums up China very well. It did not seam reasonable that China is “communist” in the traditional meaning of the term.

Somewhere it is said that fascism follows after communism has failed.
