Yes sir! Standard technique of the Left. Decades ago, a friend of mine picked up on the same and noted that President Clinton ALWAYS had children and uniforms (cops, soldiers, etc.) ‘protecting’ him when he spoke. The Greens have used the same very, very, effectively to SILENCE debate.
There is a great book “Red Hot Lies” by Christopher Horner where he spend an entire chapter focused on the use of children as tools by the Left in the global warming hoax.
I wish I could remember his exact wording, but it went something like “They just can’t resist twisting their adorable little minds to further their political goals...”

Christopher Horner describes the Left engaging children to utilize their “pester power” precisely because they are more receptive to absorbing their Leftist propaganda and less able to think critically about the concepts. They attempt to turn them into little “Eco-Warriors” who will judge their parents behavior and lecture them on how to do better, comparing them to “The Spies” in Orwell’s “1984” or a green version of China’s Red Guards.
One prominent Leftist, Laurie David (Al Gore’s co-producer of “An Inconvenient Truth”) wrote an open letter to her children stating “We want you to grow up to be activists.” (Open letter reminding you to pick up your room to follow!). Similarly, the Somerset, UK County Council sent local primary schools an indoctrination team to scare the dickens out of children-sorry-to “raise the awareness of the urgency of climate change of kids ranging in age from seven to ten”. The council’s administration officer seriously spilled the beans by admitting “The goal is to inspire children to take this message home to their families, friends, and communities...” There’s nothing like starting kids off early on lifetimes of being friendless nags or insufferable at family gatherings!
Rent-seeking industries are equally shameless in their effort to create a league of wealth-fearing snitches. For example, European energy company NPower launched a campaign “to enlist as climate cops, to root out climate crimes, and thus save the planet.” This included color ads in the Sunday paper sections and, in a luridly designed web site mimicking the style of youth cartoons, it offers a bundle of downloads, including a packet of “climate crime cards” urging its recruits to spy on families, friends, and relatives, inviting each of them to build up “climate crime case file” in order to help them ensure their putative criminals do not commit those crimes again...or else!
Thankfully, or possibly, just wisely, the “or else” is left unspecified, but the “climate cops” are encouraged to keep detailed written records for a “climate cops HQ”. Aww, that’s so cute. So the crimes would presumably be revealed at your hearing. And, for those “climate cops” that successfully perform the missions set (or turn in their own parents) there’s the reward of training in the “Climate Cop Academy”.
LOL, he talks about the way schools have been leveraged by Leftists to twist the minds of children, speaking of one case: “Alternately, you might join over 3 million others and view a hysterical YouTube video posted by a high school teacher styled “Most Terrifying Video You Will Ever See” that, it admits up front, makes Al Gore and his fever dream look like a sissified Pollyanna. I had hoped that was some strange code for “dishonest”, but instead, it seems that someone who has custody of children for several hours every day finds Al Gore too calm and rational. The National Education Association seems inclined to agree. It occurs that a safer option to subjecting my kids to professional educators is home schooling, and by that I mean, sealing them in a drum with Alec Baldwin and a furious badger. Much safer.
It is a brilliantly written, and spot on book.
