CHICAGO (WLS) -- Fifty five people were shot, eleven fatally over the Labor Day Weekend in Chicago.
The shootings include an attack on four young men in the South Chicago neighborhood Sunday night in the 8600-block of South Kingston Avenue.
David DeVeaux Jr, 20 and 18-year-old Jason Mundo, 18, were gunned down while sitting in front of a home. Two others were also shot.
Police said at least two shooters armed with a rifle and two handguns walked up and opened fire.
One of the fatal attacks occurred in West Garfield Park on the West Side Friday evening. About 6:30 p.m., a 24-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 4400-block of West Jackson Boulevard when two cars approached and several people got out and began shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Early Saturday, a man was fatally shot in Old Town on the Near North Side. The man, 31, was found on the ground with a gunshot wound in the chest a few minutes after midnight in the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died.
A few hours later, a man, 22, was killed in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. Officers found him with multiple gunshot wounds about 3 a.m. in the 6000-block of South Racine Avenue.
In other shootings, a 15-year-old boy was critically wounded Friday night while walking on a sidewalk in South Chicago. Close to midnight, the teen was in the 7900-block of South Crandon Avenue when he was approached by four men and was shot.
An hour later, a 13-year-old boy was shot and wounded early Sunday in the Lawndale neighborhood. The teen was walking on the sidewalk about 1:30 a.m. in the 700-block of South Kostner Avenue.

Our nation pays a horrific price for what the democrats have done to the inner-city. Millions, yes millions, of American children are and have been written off as collateral damage with violent communities, a failing education system, and broken families because one political party has a stranglehold on them and they shut out all other voices with stupid labels or some kind of fake understanding.
It makes me very angry.
These children are Americans. They have potential. They deserve far better than the failed policies that support democrat politicians, democrat unions, and a false narrative that you and I can’t or don’t care because of our appearance.
It is past time to try something new. We continue fueling the failure with more tax money but without safe communities, school choice, and incentivizing family we will continue to read this article every week.

In the same country, a different world. 13 year old and 1:30am can’t happen at the same time. But it happens in Chicago. Sad, helpless and hopeless. I kind of sympathize with lightfoot. Clearly it’s way beyond her. What does it matter? Lightfoot got right skin and gender in right time of America

You have to understand, the left loves this carnage. Death and destruction taste as good as gelato to them. It serves their purposes.

CHICAGO — A five-year-old boy shot was shot in the head and critically injured in Rogers Park Sunday night just days after starting his first day of school, his family said.
Police said the boy was taken in critical condition after being shot while sitting in a car visiting his mother while saying goodbye to his father, who was also wounded in the shooting.
A $3,000 reward is now being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting.
So far this year, 238 minors have been shot in Chicago, with 32 killed.
The little boy, Devin McGregor, was shot in the head in the 7600-block of North Paulina Avenue in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
To hear Chicago Police's David Brown tell it, shootings were down 20% from labor day last year.
Talk about damning with faint praise.
