>>We’re told the two were in an ongoing relationship but law enforcement sources say the victim got a temporary restraining order against the suspect
San Carlos is not Silicon Valley. It’s halfway up the peninsula from Santa Clara County.
Maybe the fact that a man beheaded a woman in broad daylight on a street in the US is not news to you, but it sure as heck is to me. With the flood of people from all around the world coming through our open border, we can expect more third-world "cultural" phenomena like this to occur here on a more regular basis. There was not a lot of detail in the article, but there sure was news.
They wouldn’t be growing it if no one wanted to buy it. Just sayin’...
South San Carlos / Redwood City is basically Mexico now.
Really charming.
> Onlookers! Not one willing to intervene, let’s say with a gun. Wait, CA-never mind.
Bummer, I used to live near there, used to ride my bike or drive down Laurel quite often. If I’d seen it I would have taken action and dared San Mateo County to make an issue of it. But a while back me and my EDC moved to a state where I can be a citizen and not a subject.
I had a friend who lived right by there, he was a firefighter/EMT. One day on a call he put a sleeper hold on the assailant in a domestic violence situation, mainly so his partner could work on the victim. For that he was discharged, lost his certs, lost his livelihood. The assailant sued him and the cost of lawyering up expended all his assets and left his family homeless. He fell into a deep depression, succumbed to a stroke followed by pneumonia.
I still have friends who keep houses in San Carlos, but a goodly number are somewhere else semi-permanently, mostly gated enclaves well-secured from the hoi polloi...
> No. San Carlos is most definitely not Silicon Valley
Why not? The northern boundary used to be 92, but ever since all those FAANG kids made SF into a bedroom community the line has shifted north quite a ways. I have friends in San Carlos(formerly) who worked for Intel, HP, Synopsys, Varian, etc “back in the day”.
That is very sad that a first responder, putting his life in harms way, was treated as the perpetrator.
Interesting, Jose doesn’t look very Jose. Decapitation is one of the benchmarks of Mexican cartel behavior.
You or someone with the a writer’s bacground should make a book out of your friend’s murder by legalism and political correctness.
sure it is, but there’s NO who/why... poor reporting on purpose
Pretty much sums it up I guess, and with no picture of the victim, I strongly suspect that some mudsharkery was going on.
And silicon Balley has always been Cupertino south and then east to the bay
The place that is home to Intel HP and other silicon kings
Well, they have white Latinos, I’m sure they have black ones too. Cuba has a lot of them.
The suspect was later identified as Jose Landaeta Solano.
Who gives a damn if American women are beheaded on our streets?
