Nobody cheated Carlsen. He’s a 31 year old crybaby.
The guy has a track record of cheating online. For such a guy at only 19 to win with the black pieces against magnus…it screams cheating.
Palming an extra rook and slipping it onto the board.
That old trick works every time.
I got caught, and was disqualified. I blame this on liberal over-reaction.
Cheated how? Adderall?

Just Sayin’.
Niemann said he would play a rematch while in the nude to prove that he did not cheat.
I say - Game on!
A cochlear implant would be impossible unless a transmitter was nearby. And that would surely be detected and incapacitated. It must be mental telepathy etc.. And I don’t suspect that. Sounds like Mr. Carlsen’s nerves were in play.
Is there any penalty for dropping out of a tournament? Does Carlsen forfeit all remainng matches? Or does he limit his loss to the one blunder and somehow preserve his ranking?

Unless it is in ADX Florence Supermax there can be cheating, and even then
J’adoube!...
The misogyny and racism was outrageous!
I’m a casual non-competitive player at Chess.com, and cheating is endemic on the platform (using 3rd party move calculators and engines), so I’m not surprised that it has spilled over into over-the-table professional matches, especially with lots of $$$$ on the line.
The basic issue seems to be that at a critical point in the Carlsen game the teenage Niemann made three, over the board, optimal moves, in a row.
After the game, when asked to explain those moves, Niemann made a rambling and unsatisfying explanation, which is what incited skepticism among several grandmasters.
In addition, Niemann is currently banned from Chess.com online tournaments because in two similar games he was also unable to explain how he found several brilliant moves over the board and under time pressure.
The flip side to this debate is that no Niemann critics can explain how he cheated in a live tournament.
