Yes, Showtime has taken a deep dive into the wild world of politics to bring you a documentary that will rivet the nation from now until the end of time: Lincoln Project, The Movie.
No, I am not kidding. They made a 5 part documentary about the Lincoln Project.
It promises to be riveting stuff. Listen to what the producers have to say about it:
“There has never been a super PAC that has captured the imagination of the general public like the Lincoln Project. They showed us that you could use storytelling and the power of the internet to punch back, and that you could fight a bully by bringing the fight right to their doorstep. Like the best verité documentary journeys we had no idea where this story would take us, and we hope in presenting this all-American tale of redemption, power and betrayals, that viewers can be entertained and galvanized to be more active in protecting the foundations of American democracy at a time when it is more fragile than ever.”
I think it is fair to say that the directors, Fisher Stevens (“Dirty Money”) and Karim Amer (“The Vow”), used a bit of hyperbole when they described the Lincoln Project as having “captured the imagination of the general public.” It would be more accurate to say that the grifters who run the super PAC have captured the wallets of the Leftist donor class, and have stoked the fever dreams of the more empty-headed members of the mainstream media. That is what $50 million of fundraising in an election year can buy you.
Glenn Greenwald hit the nail on the head when he described the Lincoln Project.

The general public? I think it is safe to say that almost nobody knows who they are, and fewer people care.
Political junkies might want to watch the documentary to see how the directors can conjure up a sense of drama. There are, to be sure, some elements of the story that have promise. When you mix politics and a sexual harassment scandal you can get some people interested for a few minutes. Sex sells, after all. And boy does this story include a touch of juiciness. From the New York Times:
John Weaver, a longtime Republican strategist and co-founder of the prominent anti-Trump group the Lincoln Project, has for years sent unsolicited and sexually provocative messages online to young men, often while suggesting he could help them get work in politics, according to interviews with 21 men who received them.
His solicitations included sending messages to a 14-year-old, asking questions about his body while he was still in high school and then more pointed ones after he turned 18. …
Mr. Weaver sent overt sexual solicitations to at least 10 of the men and, in the most explicit messages, offered professional and personal assistance in exchange for sex. He told one man he would “spoil you when we see each other,” according to a message reviewed by The New York Times. “Help you other times. Give advice, counsel, help with bills. You help me … sensually.”
The story gets creepier:
Interviews with the 21 young men, as well as a review of screenshots of dozens of messages he sent them over the last five years, show that his online behavior was in many cases aggressive and unwanted.
Cole Trickle Miele was 14 when he followed Mr. Weaver on Twitter in 2015 and quickly received a direct message from him. At first, he did not think anything was amiss.“I remember being a 14-year-old kid interested in politics and being semi-starstruck by John Weaver engaging in a conversation with me,” said Mr. Trickle Miele, now 19. …
In June 2018, Mr. Weaver asked, “Are you in HS still?” — referring to high school — and Mr. Trickle Miele said that he was, and that he would be 18 the next spring. “You look older,” Mr. Weaver replied. “You’ve gotten taller.”
But it is going to be difficult to maintain the narrative of a plucky group of political warriors saving democracy alongside a deeper dive into that same group harboring a married man who made sexual overtures to 21 men including a 14 year-old. They can play it for some dramatic effect, of course. But even in today’s more sexually liberated environment most people are unlikely to see a “minor attracted person” as a hero saving democracy.
Hollywood has had a long history of leaning Left, but until recently it has focused more on making money than proselytizing directly in their products. Sure, there have been plenty of political films over the years, but these days even tentpole franchises that pay the bills are getting invaded by woke nonsense. She-Hulk, anyone?
In general this has been a bad financial move. Netflix last May fired a bunch of its woke employees and sent a warning to its staff that they should keep politics out of the workplace. Disney went all in on woke and got burned very badly. In the weeks after it got into a highly public spat with Ron DeSantis they promptly lost $50 billion in stock value. They have recovered a bit since then, but overall their stock is down 37% since last year. It turns out that focusing mainly on “queering” their content has done little to attract eyeballs in their target audience.

It is impossible to say whether Showtime’s bet on telling the riveting story of the Lincoln Project will attract new subscribers, but if the recent history of woke flops is any indication it is difficult to imagine it will. Most people want entertainment.
If you want to be riveted by the gripping story of the Lincoln Project, Variety tells us that “the series will premiere on Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and episodes will air back-to-back each Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT. All five episodes will also release on demand and on streaming platforms for Showtime subscribers on Oct. 7.”

Sigh - another movie that white-washes leftist sleaze. Since the generations going forward prefer electronic/digital news and entertainment soon nobody will read books and articles on what really happened. Only the media produced by the leftists will be used for historical reference. In a generation or two people will believe only the history presented by the movies.
Ex: Robert Redford(?) made a movie that tries to exonerate Dan Rather and CBS from the despicable hit piece on Bush the Younger back in ‘72. Unless deep research is done, our grand-kids will believe that the Texas Air Nat’l Guard(TANG 72-73) incident involving Bush was an attempt to save the USA from the doom and despair of a Bush presidency. Dan Rather will be regarded as a hero. No one will know that Rather’s ‘fake but accurate’ reporting cost him his job and reputation.

I’d love to see DisneyLand become a huge low income housing project. But DisneyWorld is a huge employer in central Florida....maybe I’d like it to become a huge microchip manufacturing (or development) complex with tens of thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of well paying jobs.

Looking past the political attack, it seems like many of those involved in it are mentally broken.
Some way past their political prime, some totally clueless about what is going on, some clearly with connections to the Gay Mafia.
