General mobilization order.

Declaring full war.

Looks like the bear is hurt enough to take the gloves off.

“General mobilization order. Declaring full war. Looks like the bear is hurt enough to take the gloves off.”

Hard to see any other option, now that NATO has all but promised to send front-line tanks to Ukraine.

The Neocons wanted a war with Russia, looks like they’ll be getting it.

It has no gloves to take off, else they would not be in a losing situation.

Odds that he’ll talk about his nuclear forces? Pretty high if I were a betting man.

It’s hard to fight with conventional forces in the dead of a Ukrainian winter. Tactical nukes have no such trouble. Get ready for this to really ratchet up.

Not the neo-cons but the people who know their history and see this Russian adventure as what happened in Europe in the 1930’s. Aggression must be checked.

It is our business. In the 1930’s the world marched towards world war by ignoring overt aggression. History repeats itself.

Let the Euros deal with it. The borders of Europe have been pushed back and forth by wars for thousands of years without any help from the USA.

I don’t believe that Russia was a country in the 1930s and the person running the Soviet Union wasn’t even a Russian.

I would be very surprised by a general mobilization, for two reasons:
1. Russia has only committed about 10% of its military power to Ukraine and enjoys direction lines of communication to send and equip its forces there. It has plenty more to give before resorting to general mobilization.
2. Russia's political leadership appears to be sticking to its prohibition against sending conscripts to fight outside Russia's borders. So far, Russia claims that it has only used contracted soldiers and private military contractors in Ukraine.

I suspect a more likely outcome is that Russia will escalate its "Special Military Operation" to an "anti terrorist" operation to permit more latitude in the scope of its offensive operations. With the exception of what Putin recently referred to as several "warning shots" against power plants and a hydroelectric dam, Russia has avoided targeting civilian infrastructure. The fact that Ukraine's electricity, phones, water, sanitation, transportation and other functions have operated normally throughout the war supports this claim.

But we shall see...

I equate this with the Japs invading Manchuria in 1931. It set the wheels in motion.

Actually, looks like the bear has lost and can only threaten to nuke us. Weak countries act like this and not strong ones.

Putin wants a reset because his corrupt and incompetent army bumbled away this war. His problem is that pre war army is gone and he can’t wish another one.

Are your for real. Russia was part of the Soviet Union. Historically the goals of the Soviet Union mirrored that of Russia. The core leadership of the Soviet Union was Russian.
