Gosh, you think?! My God. Is there nobody eager to step in and try to get Ukraine and Russia to the peace table?
It's good that Russia got its nose bloodied hard, but can we please put a stop to this before it gets out of hand? At the UN yesterday, Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said that unnamed Western countries that are militarily backing Ukraine -- that would include the United States -- are seen by Russia as part of this war. I, for one, would rather not risk nuclear war over Donbas.

The politicians in DC don’t seem very frightened of nuclear war. Is it because there are luxurious fallout shelters for them and their families? The only folks who’ll get radiation poisoning will be us little people, who will have nowhere to shelter?

Putin is trying to normalize nuclear weapons for regular wars of conquest and invasions of other countries, in other words, introduce nuclear weapons as a normal weapon for attacking other nations, which would open it for Red China and N. Korea, and in time Iran.

No one is attacking Russia, no one is interested in attacking Russia, and Russia is not being invaded.
Reagan threatened Russia with total annihilation if they used nukes on us.
Russia is threatening us and NATO with nuclear weapons if we don’t do as they order, think about that, not to save mother Russia, but as part of normal invasions of other countries.
As best as I can see it, the outcome certain parties would be pushing for would be a ceasefire "in place", which of course would essentially give to Russia exactly what it wants. Which is probably that's exactly what Russia would be pushing for. "Let's just stop the fighting, then we can talk". They'd talk forever, because just talking is a victory for them.
