A ‘seismic’ shift: Will Meloni’s Italy turn its back on Europe?
France 24 ^ | 28/9/22

The results of Italy's general election could alter the balance of power within the EU, with far-right, eurosceptic parties set to helm the next government in Rome. Italy is making something of a U-turn from Mario Draghi’s premiership, which put Italy back in the driving seat of Europe and bolstered the influence of a country accustomed to punching below its weight.

ADVERTISING Draghi sent out a warning to the right-wing coalition poised to succeed him at the helm of the EU’s third-largest economy as he wrapped up his last press conference, a week before Italy’s election.

“We have a certain vision of Europe. Our allies are Germany, France and the other European states that uphold the rule of law,” said the outgoing premier, commenting on the decision by Italy’s main far-right parties – Brothers of Italy and the anti-immigrant Lega – to side with Viktor Orban’s Hungary in its latest tussle with Brussels over the rule of law.

“Our choice of partners should be based on the interests of Italians – not just on ideological grounds,” he added. “The question to bear in mind is which of these partners can better help us protect those interests.”

The EU will stick a knife in Italy’s back whether they turn or not.

You know it’s a communist talking when it labels the opposition as ‘far right’ or ‘fascist” or worse.

Europe is surrounded.

Conservative women are to the north in the UK and the south in Italy. Additionally, Sweeden turned to the right.

Perhaps other Euro nations will defect to conservatism as their elections crop up.

I had thought that the countries of Europe were coming out from under the spell when China released COVID on the world. National borders closed and Italy was flying around sacred relics.

The Gobalists retained control, however.

But, the people know who has turned their backs on them.

To answer Mel Gibson in his movie, “The Patriot”, I would rather have a thousand tyrants, one mile a way, than one tyrant a thousand miles away. I think that most people can appreciate the virtues of localized government.

Italy should break from the EU and become a sovereign nation again. Germany is going to hell in a hand basket. That will be the collapse of the EU. It’s best to get going while the going is good.

Cannot read the entire link. But the first sentence starts off with “far right” which means that ensuing paragraphs will undoubtedly include the words “Mussolini” and “fascist”. No one ever accused the media parrots of original thought. They are so predictable

I am impressed as Hell by Georgia Meloni. If there’s a chance for an “Italexit,” she would lead it.

The other day was an article stating hers was the first “far-right gov since WWII”!

So they had to get in that she’s a Mussolini fascist by strong association.

Sick of these SOBs.

They never mention that Italy almost went hardcode Stalinist after WWII. Commies still run the unions there.

So another way it could be spun is “the first government since WWII that hasn’t been far-left”.

If Italy continues to refuse to live within its means, the EU will continue to have Italy by its short hairs.

Talk is cheap.
