Gov. Roy Cooper: North Carolina Has ‘Front Row Seat’ to Climate Change
Breitbart ^ | 10/02/2022 | Pam Key

Governor Roy Cooper (D-NC) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” said his state has a “front row seat” to climate change while discussing the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.

Anchor Chuck Todd asked, “Let’s talk about rebuilding from his disasters. North Carolina has had to do it, Florida has had to do it quite a few times. Is it time to put more strings when it comes to rebuilding so that every dollar that’s spent is done for resiliency, so that it’s better for the next time and who should pay for that?”

Cooper said, “North Carolina has had a front-row seat when it comes to the effects of climate change. We are making sure that we become a clean energy safe haven and that we are paying attention to resiliency.”

Gotta give Democrats credit — they stay on message unlike Republicans who can’t seem to figure out their message.

Florida sticks out like a sore thumb in the Atlantic and Gulf. It has the greatest chance of being impacted by tropical activity.

North Carolina shares similar geography in that it sticks out in the Atlantic which explains why it is impacted by tropical activity.

This is nothing new.

‘Cooper said, “North Carolina has had a front-row seat when it comes to the effects of climate change.’

so I leave PA and that blooming idiot Tom Wolf, only to be greeted by the likes of Roy Boy...

two loons of a feather...

Frankly, I think the resiliency is there in FL. Numerous home and developments that would have been wiped off the map years ago by a hurricane are still standing after Ian. New codes for new homes seem to be working.

Worship of the earth, of which global warming belief plays a huge part, is their religion.

This clown won due to all the college kids (Duke, UNC, NC State, NCCS, and ECU) who are constantly being bombarded with this climate nonsense starting in the public schools.

I don’t know about new codes. Maybe just rigid enforcement. I heard stories about inspectors passing whole subdivisions, based on inspecting one “model home,” which of course was perfect. Hurricane blows through, and lots of roofs blow off because there were no hurricane clips holding the rafters to the wall framing.

No you idiot, you have a front row seat to Mother Nature. Hurricanes have been changing the coastline for thousands of years. Can’t fix stupid.

Certainly not opposed to resiliency, however, the extreme rarity of severe storms has allowed for shoddy construction for nearly a century.

Correct.

From Carolina tongue Florida Keys, palm trees grow because... They are most resistant to the furious winds from the sea while other broad branched trees would snap in half that close to the coastline.

And they didn’t start growing there since the industrial revolution.

South Carolina is call d the “Palmetto State” for a reason

Ian was apparently the first hurricane to come to North Carolina.
