With less than 40 days until Election Day, much attention is being directed toward the US Senate races in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Yet, out west, Democrats are struggling, and one key voter group keeps them up at night, which could impact the party’s performance this cycle. In Nevada, there are troubling signs that a horde of Latino voters could sit this election out. They’re unhappy about the economy and the quality of the job opportunities—which runs counter to the Biden White House’s narrative that this is the most incredible economic recovery of all time. Some operatives are increasingly anxious on the ground, as Nevada is usually held as a bellwether concerning how Latinos will vote. The only consolation Democrats can find from the lack of enthusiasm about Hispanic voters in Nevada is that they’re not voting for Republican candidate Adam Laxalt, the state’s former attorney general. Yet, one could argue that Latino voters staying home benefits Mr. Laxalt, who has polled well against incumbent Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. The RealClearPolitics average gives Mr. Laxalt a 2.2-point lead among all the aggregated polls. Democrats thought that because Ms. Masto was Latino, they could just bank on automatic support. That turned out to be a gross calculation, and one Latino voter NBC News spoke with felt that Nevada Gov. Sisolak, who is white, is more Hispanic than Masto (via NBC News):

After they get a little education and realize that Democrats are not “for the poor” like they were told when they arrived, but instead are socialists and communists exactly like what they fled from.
They turn on Democrats.
Within our lifetimes, Latinos will become “white” again, and eventually be labeled racist along with all other white that don’t support Democrats!
LOL! Yup! demokkkommies——promises made, promises delayed.
To add your name to the growing Nevada ping list, FReepmail me...
And if things go really well Hispanics may only vote 62-38 for the Dems instead of 65-35. Yeah!!!
This recession is already punching them in the face.
Hey, we’ll take it.
And when I'm not on a mute-equipped laptop, I've learned to click on the volume icon in YouTube videos to silence the crap. TV habits translating to my computers.
Even a little bit helps.
The Hispanic voters who are sitting home this election cycle will be voting Republican in the future, or their kids will.
Sadly, while she expects Hispanic vote because of her race, Laxalt expects Republican votes because of his family name. Both equally bad. At least she is trying to win, Laxalt is a lazy campaigner, not hungry to win, and like Lyn’ Ted, will have Trump come in and help drag him across the finish line and equally likely will stab him in the back shortly thereafter. Hard to forget he was a Never Trumper that supported Jeb.
And I am dumbfounded to see Republicans again dragged in to making the election about abortion. With Republicans here actively defending it. I think Lombardo has as many ads on it as the Dems. The should be solely taking about the recession, economy, inflation, and immigration. But no, they let Dems set the agenda.
The Latino culture is very community based and vibrant. I think it will likely blend well with young conservatives.
“...a horde of Latino voters could sit this election out.”
Don’t call them Latino. The overwhelming majority are naturalized Mexican. And the more educated and wealthy they become, out of ghettos like in LA, the more conservative and Republican they become.
They are not monolithic. They vote with their wallets, and they hate politicians who lie.
Historically, immigrants behaved according to their generation, after a big immigrant wave. With 1st gen working low wage jobs; the 2nd gen being troublesome, half in and half out of the old country; and the 3rd gen adapting and integrating.
But Mexicans are wholly different. Again, outside of ghettos, you may find 1st through 4th gen living in the same home, with mixed citizenship and integration through the generations.
The youngest might be fully integrated, speak English but not Spanish fluently, and be illegal; whereas the legal grandfather is prosperous, and can barely speak English. Being in the US or Mexico is not a one time thing, often they go back and forth for various reasons.
The youngest, fully Americanized and illegal, might have zero connections with Mexico or Mexicans who live there. This is why expelling them in particular is insane, any more than throwing a random American child across the border.
But put it all together, and when it comes to voting, the proof is in the pudding.
President Ford ruined his chances with the Mexican vote by trying to eat a tamale still in its paper wrapper on camera.

Hispanics are NOT like blacks. Democrats are making a big mistake if they think they are. Latinos in Florida and Texas and increasingly across the country - vote like other middle class and working class Americans.
