Mat 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
I don’t pretend anything - I’ve got a direct quote from Jeses - I’m going to let you research the Hebrew canon to see what He is saying - you won’t - but the doesn’t bother me in the least
The Septuagint? You do realize that Origen wrote that counterfeit piece of trash?
So now you just want to argue?
Is sola scriptura in the Bible? Sure is …
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”
WTH?! TOTAL INSANITY!
Then how were Jesus and Paul able to quote from it? Considering that Origen was born in A.D. 185?
It's fairly well established that the Septuagint was translated sometime in the third century BC.
Therefore, the LXX did not exist prior to the third century
Origen died in 253 at the age of 69. It was a column in his Hexapla. His students refined it
ChineseGoosgogFarms ???
(Goosgog being a nickname of Gooseberry)
I know a number who do.
most likely the reason is this if her husband is also Catholic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastoral_Provision#Married_priests
I’ve met a large number of these priests and often their wives as well.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”
Ah, no. That quote upholds scriptura. It says nothing about sola scriptura.
“Only a priest is forbidden to marry … in violation of the word of God.”
They choose not to marry. There’s no violation of God’s Word there at all.
Probably the Episcopal church ..
They call their ministers ‘priests’
Catholic is a universal term if they were Rome type Catholics she would be called a Roman Catholic ...
I missed your BC - I can be a excused for that - I had eye surgery and can barely see
Sola scriptura means only Scripture- there are no scriptures apart from the preserved Syrian text of the Bible.
Adamantius Origen, the great “Bible-believing Fundamentalist” (184-254) used a King James Version contained in the Textus Receptus Greek text of the Byzantine or Syrian type “family text”.
Did I forget to mention that he was also your typical apostate Fundamentalist?
Well, not prior to the third century BC. But it's a Greek translation of earlier scripture. And a good one, considering that Jesus and Paul quote from it.
Actually, there are no existing OT texts older than the Septuagint. Certainly not the Masoretic text.
Yes, the Septuagint was translated from original Hebrew texts, but those original texts are gone.
According to Wiki: "The oldest known complete copy [of the Masoretic OT], the Leningrad Codex, dates from the early 11th century AD."
Some choose celibacy (Paul was celibate) … many others have voiced their desire to have a family … but They are forbidden in violation of Scripture.
Hope your eyesight improves. I had cataract surgery nearly a decade ago. It went well.
Paul would quote a heathen poet before he would quote from something that didn’t even exist yet.
I had a corneal rejection after an injury
