$935? I live alone but have family and friends over for supper at least once a week. I don’t spend a quarter of that on groceries.
I know what you mean EXACTLY....wife and I get by on MAYBE 100 to 125 and we watch sales/buy in bulk etc... to have a 1000 a month you can eat like a king if you know how...what a fool I am not on the dole s/

I’m getting just over $58 per week for one person with those numbers, but math was never my strong suit.
Does not matter SNAP was never meant to provide all the food of whatever kind one might want.
I think I can take $58 and feed myself a decent healthy diet for a week. Might be a little bland but still enough calories and nutrition.

Most will be finding out soon. The money is going to stop coming in anytime. There will be a whole lot of folks on SNAP who mistakenly think they will never need it. It’s the plan man.

Try 99.00 in food stamps per month and living on that.. you can but it’s sucks bad. I have. Did for 5 yrs...

Lots of seniors are going to on food stamps, I know I am one of them. $250 a month will feed me just fine.

They have too. SS is just not enough to get by on in this economy. Even SS plus a pension is still rough. There are those who do abuse the system, but there are just as many who do not and really need it. There are many who tried to do the moral thing and still ended up needing help.
There are a whole lot of spoiled folks in this country who have never had to go even one hour hungry, let alone three or four days without anything to eat.
Ramen? Too much sodium.
Where is it written that splurging is illegal? How do you know he was not a decorated combat vet who, due to PTSD, could not hold a job? How do you know all of that and are able to make such drive by snap judgements? Are you really that cold hearted?
What do you know about such situations? How can you tell from such great heights? Are you really that cold hearted?
Its judgements like yours that make life difficult for the less fortunate. Don’t you understand that taking food stamps hurts all the pride and self respect of most people on them? Are you really that cold hearted?
